Live Colorfully

As 2016 approaches its official end, I cannot help but reflect on the many wonderful experiences that I had this year- culminating with my trip to Africa!!! Yes, it was a hear of highs and lows, but I feel optimistic and determined to gear my focus on all of the positive moments in which I felt my happiest!
Closing out the final month of the year with a trip that most definitely stirred and changed me was without a doubt thee top highlight of the year. The friends that I made, the people I met, the wonderful experiences we shared, all made it truly the trip of a lifetime. As I look forward to 2017 I feel more determined than ever to live in the moment, to fully appreciate my personal journey, to learn from my mistakes, and yes:
to  L I V E  C O L O R F U L L Y!!!

Until next time Loves,
XO

A Splash of Burgundy

I previously mentioned (see here) my adoration for UK Clothier Elvi (specializes in premium plus-size clothing). I am excited to bring to you yet another example of why Elvi is now on my list of 'Steadys'. First off, although I love a bargain (who doesn't?), I am more interested in obtaining stylish, quality clothing. I’m cautious about trying new brands, because time and time again I have been disappointed when it comes to the quality of such garments. I have not had that issue at all with Elvi!!  In fact, the more that I experience from their collection, the more that I am truly taken in! A number of designs could be categorized as ‘investment pieces', however the craftsmanship stands for itself, you can expect to enjoy each piece for years to come ;)

This vest is from the AW16 Collection, I mean seriously, it is in a league of it’s on! Each time that I've worn it, the compliments/inquiries pour in. This fact actually encouraged me to make sure that it landed here on the blog sooner than later.  The look and feel of it is luxurious and the color boasts a rich pigment. By the way, did you notice the contrast in detail from faux pony fur to wool? Simply glorious!

I paired his burgundy beauty up with a rose quartz faux leather skirt this time around, but I’ve also pulled it off with medium blue denim jeans, white, and all black. Rose quartz was designated by Pantone as the color of the year for 2016. It actually goes quite well with several traditional Fall hues, including burgundy.

As they say,  ‘There is no time better than the present’, I seized the opportunity to wear my new rose gold glitter sandals yet again (previously introduced here)   =) Not only are they stylish Loves, but I am able to wear them all day long without any discomfort! Woohoo!!! That is the definition of winning in my book! Besides, I’m getting too old to battle the crippling pain of ill made/designed shoes! LOL!

Until next time,
XO

Black Friday

Today I’m gabbing about one of my absolute go-to brands: Eliza J.!!! I acquire Eliza J. at Nordstrom, but several major retailers also carry them. My current inventory shows just how much I am enamored with this brand...I have purchased just under 20 of their dresses!
Today I am pleased to showcase one of several fabulous editions to their deluxe style soiree: faux fur stoles! As you know, this time of year is full of festive events alongside cooler temperatures. What’s a style loving gal to do?
Layer, layer, and layer! Vary up the textures. Deviate from your normal color palette with an unexpected splash of color.
White is fantastically versatile. Time and time again it has been proven that it can be worn successfully during the winter months. Try pairing white with rich hues like currant, eggplant, turquoise, and need I say: black.
This combination serves my textural interests very well: faux fur, silk, wool, patent leather, and calfskin leather. Faux fur is a great way to add umph, texture, and glam to any look.
Added bonus: Faux fur also keeps you warm during the winter chill.
Stay tuned for more style goodies and outfit ideas via Eliza J.!

Turquoise Dewdrop

Happy Fri-yay Loves!!!
Today's post is short & sweet because it's Friday and who has time to read a long blog post?! LOL!
Let the weekend games commence!
Turquoise drenched silk is easily paired with an abstract skirt and a trim of suede.
During the Spring season, the weather can be somewhat unpredictable.
Long sleeves and suede shoes are appropriate for daytime breezes and nighttime chills.
I've mentioned before that silk permeates my wardrobe. I love the fiber because it's not as breathable as others, which in my opinion gives it a warming factor. I  S T A Y cold! Silk helps me to stay warm when I don't want to wear layers.

What are your tricks for staying warm without adding layers?

Until next time, have a GREAT weekend!

Sweet Plum Meets Pastel Blue

Can you believe that there are only 4 more days left in the official Summer season?!
I say “official” because although some are likely experiencing Fall-like temperatures, here in SoCal we’ve been contending with the 100's (Fahrenheit) and humidity to boot O_O!
What’s a gal to do when she is Fall-ready but the temperatures in her neck of the woods simply will not cooperate?
There are several ways to handle this type of crisis (LOL), however this time around I worked to style a merger between the two seasons. Who says that you can’t have your cake and eat it too?!
I paired a deep wine colored silk blouse with a summery blue pastel midi skirt. To seal the merger I added a crisp white handbag. This idea was inspired by an ensemble set I saw on YouLookFab! Check it out on my Pinterest board, “I’m Inspired” here. Overall I like this color combination, and plan to try it at least once more.
Thank you for checking out today's post and commenting below ;)
Until next time Style Lovers!

21 JumpStreet

Is it Monday again?! Why are the days of this month going by so fast? As I was preparing to type up this post I was completely astonished that in less than 2 weeks August 2014 will be said and done! I love having a full and busy life, but my goodness, time is moving faster than I am! Nonetheless, on to today’s post =)
I titled this post "21 JumpStreet" after an American television show that was on in the late 80s/early 90s. Holly Robinson-Peete (an actresses) had big hair, and wearing my hair like this totally reminded me of the show and her-LOL!
I looked up images online, and wouldn’t you know it, I actually spotted her in jacket that is similar to the top that I am wearing.
Now this midi skirt has been a favorite of mine for a number of years. Not only is the bright floral print in sync with me, but the practical linen material and attached cotton slip are winners for the summer heat.
Over time the waist seems to have stretched out a bit, and because of that, I notice that I don’t wear it nearly as often as I used to. However, that’s an easy fix, and because it’s in great shape otherwise, it shall continue on with my collective for years to come =)
Usually I pair it with white, orange, or yellow, but I wanted to try something different this time around. I searched through my collective, and decided to go with a touch of trendy by adding this acid wash chambray shirt.
Instead of a statement necklace, I opted for statement earrings.
A small handbag (leaving my bigger tote in the car) and matching acid wash platforms (worn here) finished off the look.
Please share below: Do you rock the acid wash trend, or do you prefer classic mainstream pieces?
Thanks for commenting, have a wonderful day Beauties!
