Dress Relief

Sunnies: Juicy Couture| Dress: c/o HERE| Sandals: HERE
Photography by A. Robinson

If you went through my closet today and polled all of my dresses, you'd see that I own more Eliza J. dresses than any other brand. I started shopping the designer 8-10 years ago via my retail fav, Nordstrom. Whenever I am in a bind for an upcoming event/venue, or simply in the mood for a bit of retail therapy - I pop into the retail giant because they never disappoint. I always land something that meets and or exceeds my expectations. Time and time again, I exit checkout with a beautiful Eliza J. design. My choices as of late have been partial to gorgeous floral prints, specifically designs boasting vibrant hues.
Over to you Babes, what is your favorite designer for dresses?
Until next time,
Xx

LUXE Affair

faux fur stole: similar HERE| top: c/o HERE| skirt: c/o HERE| sandals: old, similar HERE

PSA: Any excuse to play dress up will always be utilized πŸ˜‰ I'm loving this two-piece set from MPT! I kept it simple for it's grand debut, however next go around I want to split the pieces up and style the bustier with  jeans 😏

Until next time,

Velvet Crush

hat: vintage, Antique Mall| dress: c/o HERE& HERE
purse: ZARA| shoes: HERE+ another option HERE
Photography by A. Robinson

Welcome to Fall 2018 Loves! What fall colors are you looking forward to playing with/in this season? I shared on Instagram that I plan to dabble in reds, multiple shades of brown, emerald green, dusty pinks (pictured HERE), burnt orange, and mustard yellow 😍. In fact, the odds are very high that shades of yellow like the one pictured today (and HERE) will be a top contender in my wardrobe this fall πŸ˜‰. I'm also looking forward to playing with a variety of textures...say velvet, corduroy, knit, and silk - for starters.
For today's look, I took a step back in time to my very first style love: V I N T A G E. This dress reminds me of another style era, I decided to follow through with that theme and pair it with a vintage pillbox hat complete with netting, a vintage style handbag, and classic shoes. I love the end result!
I can also see this dress styled with a modern twist, incorporating layers (think cotton button-ups or a classic turtleneck), boots or booties, and an updo πŸ˜‰
Until next time,
Xx

How to Wear White After Labor Day

dress: c/o HERE & HERE| purse: HERE| shoes: Jessica Simpson, similar HERE
photography by LETA
The best way to wear white after Labor Day? JUST DO IT! πŸ˜‰ Seriously, there isn't much to it! Over the years I've shared looks here on the blog styled with white time and time again, after Labor Day. If you live in a mild climate, it can be easier to pull off because summer really never ends. If you live in a place where you get full exposure to all four seasons, say for example Michigan (where I am from), after summer think white denim jeans, denim skirts, knit dresses, scarves, and even boots (I love this pair of booties HERE). Long gone are the days where you have to relegate specific colors for wear during specified times of the year to be considered fashionably correct. You don't need permission to wear white after Labor Day, or instructionsπŸ™Œ Experiment to see what you like, what exemplifies your sense of style, and most importantly: HAVE FUN WITH IT!!!
Until next time Loves,

June Bug

Earrings: HERE| Dress: c/o HERE & HERE| Straw bag: ZARA

Chapter 6 of 12 has begun Babes, can you believe we're halfway through 2018 already?! Time waits for no one!
I'm currently sitting on the veranda of my cliffside casita watching the clouds dance over the mountains 😍 I'm on vacation!!! I wrapped up the end of May and kicked off the beginning of June in another country. See more of what I'm up to in my Instagram stories😊
About this look: I've been infatuated with all things tassel embellished for let's see...um, at least two years now. When I spotted this maxi dress not only decked in a soft stripe pattern (perfect for summer), but also trimmed in fabulous tassels- well, as they say- the rest is history.
I'd love to stay and chat, but I really must get back to enjoying my trip! There's a hummingbird playing to my right, three horses frolicking ahead over the mountain, and I have a spa appointment in less than an hour😍
Until next time,

Code RED

Dress: c/o Eliza J., other options HERE & HERE| Red statement necklace: HERE
Straw clutch: TJMAXX| Suede sandals: HERE + cute ones HERE

Hey Babes! Today's post features yet another example of a LRD (see previous example HERE). LRD?
What's that? Translation: Little Red Dress πŸ˜‰ Strong emphasis has often been placed around having a LBD (little black dress). We get it, having at least one is a necessary closet staple. However I want to draw attention to the value of having a great fitting LRD:
1- It can easily be categorized as a Happy Dress (see more about that HERE)
2- It's a head turner for sure
3- The right shade of red looks great on every skin tone
There you have it! In my opinion, a LRD is an equally important closet staple.
Over to you, are your rocking LRDs this summer?!
Until next time,
Xx

For the Love of Pink

Earrings: c/o HERE (use code InMyJoi15 for a 15% discount at checkout)| Jacket: c/o ASOS, sold out, another option HERE & HERE
Dress: Eliza J., Nordstrom| Velvet sandals: TJMAXX, but try HERE & HERE| Lemon wedge clutch: c/o HERE

Today's post is sponsored by 7 Charming Sisters

A monochrome color palette always makes me feel gπŸ‘€d, I was so siked when I received these gorgeous statement earrings that I decided to create a monochrome outfit around them 😍
As you can see the color palette of the earrings is pink (close to fuschia but not quite), yellow, blue, and white - there was an option in corporate every single color into the look. Instead, I wanted to make my earrings the focal point of the look. Going with monochrome light pink felt just right to me so I took it and ran with it 😊
Who knew that my new suede jacket would be a perfect match to my lace dress and velvet shoes?! I love it when things fall into formation effortlessly!
To tie in a bit of the yellow in the earrings, I added a lemon wedge clutch and hit the door.
Before I checkout, have you heard of 7 Charming Sisters before?

If there was only one thing that I could style ALL SUMMER LONG, it would hands down be SUMMER DRESSES 😍
Of course, as a verified member of "Team Dresses" I dote on dresses all year around, however there is something special about the summertime...
Floral prints, feminine frills, ruffles, lace, silk, chiffon, bold colors, soft hues, stripes, varying textures, embellishments, and the list goes on and on...
I still remember several years back when I first discovered Eliza J. at BAE, A.K.A. Nordstrom. I fell in love with her wonderful designs, and haven't looked back since. When I have a special event to attend or just want something to make me feel beautiful, I look to Eliza as she does not disappoint πŸ’•
You can find her designs at major retailers such as Lord & Taylor, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Dillards and so on. If you LIVE for a great bargain like me, look out for her designs n mardown at Nordstrom Rack!  I've scored a number of deals there, including during the infamous Clear the Rack sale πŸ˜‰
