Gone Gingham

Sunnies: Similar HERE| Stripe top: Old, another option HERE Shorts: Old, options HERE & HERE| Shoes: Sold out, try these HERE
A. Robinson Photography

Today’s look features a closet remix + a print tossup by way of black & white. With uncertain times becoming a new norm paired with an economy that seems to be plummeting towards rock bottom--> shopping your closet is not only safe but smart. I’ve made a commitment to be more intentional about what I purchase. I am challenging myself to look at pieces in my wardrobe in a new, fresh way. This look came together fueled by a desire to style this pair of satin mules and my eternal love for black & white style duos. Print mixing can feel intimidating, a simple way to start is by sticking with two or three colors. Check out previous black & white looks I’ve blogged HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.

Until next time Babes,

Ruffle It Up

Sunnies: Similar HERE| Earrings: Old, another option HERE
Top & Skirt: HERE & HERE (c/o Rebdolls)| Shoes: Sold out; Similar HERE

What's red and comes in a size range from small to 5X? This two-piece coordinates set! I fell for the frilly details on the crop top (size up if you prefer a longer fit like what is pictured here), paired with the maximum effect multi-tiered skirt 💕If this were a regular summer, say one where an infectious disease was not an imminent threat - I'd happily wear this look for Weekend Brunch or Happy Hour!
However, in an effort to make the best of current circumstances, instead I opted to wear this set on a brief mall run, along with a face mask that didn't match and flat shoes 😉 California is pretty much still on lockdown, we had a surge in COVID-19 cases for several weeks straight. The latest news reports indicate that the surge appears to be leveling out - however that can change at any time. How are things in your corner of the world?
Be safe Babes!!!
Until next time,
Xx

Hey Loves,
Today is July 1st - Whoo hoo!!! About this time every year, an annual trigger goes off in my head that seemingly shouts: It's SUMMERTIME!!!
Admittedly, 2020 is unlike any other year experienced this far in my lifetime. This summer - it actually seems almost surreal. However, despite everything that is happening in the world: I still feel joy. Hope. Gratitude. Peace. Sending you positive energy ❤
Until next time,

Gingham Girl | Take 1 of 2

Earrings: Old, other options HERE + HERE
Top: HERE + similar HERE
Shorts: HERE (I'm wearing a size 12)
Shoes: Similar HERE

A print that is synonymous with summer fashion in addition to florals is G I N G H A M.
Traditional gingham prints are often presented in the classic color duo, black & white.
I'm of fan of the expected, however diversions from the beaten path appeal to me equally.
This pair of gingham shorts from Lane Bryant stood out to me online instantly because they're RED, my favorite color 💞
When they arrived in the mail, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent fit (size 12) and functional side pockets. In my head, there should always be pockets...however I've digressed! Note: There are also faux pockets on the rear of the shorts, however I'm not fond of faux pockets...
I loved these shorts so much that I opted to style them not ONE, but TWO ways 😉
Today's post features a monochrome look, red from head to toe is never too much in my book!
Stay tuned for the second way that I styled this pair of gingham shorts...

With the official start of SUMMER 2020 just under 6 weeks away, my mind has already drifted to the glory of EVERYTHING that is summer style😍 Admittedly, this summer will no doubt be one for the record books - much of the world will continue to work to avoid a surge in COVID19 occurrences.  We each play an integral part. Additionally, many of us are actively grieving the loss of loved ones. Others are battling a fear of the unknown. Many have concerns about the economy, and what form normalcy may take on after everything is said & done.
That being said, thankfully the human spirit is one of resilience. Inevitably - at some point, we either consciously or unconsciously will make the choice to shift our attention towards lighter & brighter moments.
My intention is to lean into happy moments conciously on a regular basis. Expressing my individuality through personal style has always been a 'happy medium' for me. It is no surprise that I choose to draw my attention towards colors, textures, unusual combinations, and things that in general make me feel happy to be alive.
Today's look features a classic all-white ensemble, with textural detail by way of cotton eyelet fabric, a bamboo bag, and leather mules. I can easily see this look as the epitome of summer style for the office. Not only is it cool and comfortable COTTON, but the entire ensemble effortlessly transitions to a much needed happy hour at the end of a long day.
Enough about me! Do share what happy moments you've been leaning into during this uncertain time.

Picnic Ready

Lippie: HERE| Sunnies: F21, similar HERE| Necklace: old, J. Crew

One activity that I have not enjoyed this summer: A picnic! Because I tend to overdress wherever I go (is that really possible?😜) this look struck me as perfection for an afternoon picnic. RED is my favorite color of all time. I have no discomfort whatsoever in rocking it from head to toe in a monochromatic fashion💓
I styled this two-piece set as a dress because the length of the skirt was longer than what I imagined and the top was too short for my taste. If there's one thing that rings true when it comes to personal style- DO YOU!
Until next time Babes,

A Standout Piece

Sunnies: HERE| Dress: HERE + Similar HERE| Duster: HERE| Bag: Old
Photography by A. Robinson

Every now and then I snag an item that goes effortlessly with practically everything, and has a high FEEL GOOD factor. The duster in today's post is one such item😍 I purchased it online at an end of summer sale, and to be 100% honest - I wasn't ready!💖💖💖 When I opened up the package and tried it on for the very first time - I smiled from ear to ear!😁
Not only are the colors  wonderfully vibrant, it boasts a beautiful leopard print. I love, love, love the length and overall ease and flow of it. Needless to say, this duster will be on repeat for some time to come...
Do share, what standout pieces do you own?
Until next time Babes,

Short Stories

Sunnies: Similar HERE| Romper: HERE| Bag: HERE| Sandals: Similar HERE
Photography by A. Robinson

This weekend marks the unofficial end of SUMMER 2019! I'm stepping into a September and FALL 2019 in Leopard Print ❤
Why?

  • For starters, it is a timeless classic!
  • It is wonderfully neutral and bold all at the same time.
  • It pairs lovely with red, my favorite color 💓

I snagged this short romper at an end of summer sale. I'm wearing it in a size 12, the fit is true to size. I do wish that the sleeves were a closer cut & that it had functional pockets - but we can't have everything can we?! LOL!
Until next time,

Today's blog post features The Lena Dress, a fan favorite exclusively available at Lane Bryant. The Lena Dress flatters every body type! Get this: Not only is it universally flattering - it is now available in a variety of colors and silhouettes! What color would you like to rock it in? I'm wearing the short Lena Dress in ivory.
Fit & flare fits are my comfort zone, the fit of this dress does not disappoint in the least. I'm wearing a size 12. Not only does it offer the perfect amount of stretch (100% polyester), it has a belt that is perfect in width and length to cinch your waist, PLUS---> it has functional pockets!!!
The Lena dress is ideal to close out the final days of summer and to usher in the first days of FALL. When the temperatures shift, I can see it easily styled with a blazer, silk scarf, leather boots, and a cute tote.
Oh, did I mention that it is also machine washable?!

Check out the entire Lena dress line including a fabulous jumpsuit HERE!

Frill Seeker

top: c/o HERE| bottom: c/o HERE

Hey Babes,
It wouldn't be summer without a swimsuit post! I snagged this vintage paisley print number from a brand based in Australia. I absolutely love the frill detail on the bikini top + the fact that it can be worn on or off the shoulders. Versatility is a beautiful thing! I prefer two-piece swimsuits over one-piece suits for this very reason. If I can mix & match - even better! Over to you, do you prefer one-piece suits over bikinis, tankinis, etc?
Until next time,
Xx
