Monotone looks always give me warm and fuzzy feelings. I generously apply Iris Apfel’s famous words: ‘More is more’. Yes, less color is not more- MORE is MORE! 😎
I remember back during my very first year of blogging I shared an all orange/monochrome look that I had recently worn to the office. A reader commented that I had on entirely too much orange and that the look was distasteful. I took her sentiments in stride, thanking her for sharing her thoughts and then advising her that I would continue to style the look in exactly the same way for as long as I pleased…  A good chunk of time has passed by since then, I am now more conscious (than when I first started blogging) that others may not share my style affinity for monochrome color palettes. That doesn't phase me at all. Additionally, my style affinity is not limited to monochrome looks exclusively. I actually like a little bit of everything/every style genre. Rather than subscribing to a set formula whenever I get dressed, I simply wear what I like, whatever suits my mood.
My secret is out! I wear what makes me feel good!
When I learned from YOURS Clothing that I would have the opportunity to select a few items to style, including pieces from their brand new LIMITED COLLECTION, I instantly felt drawn to this pink bardot jumpsuit. The length is a perfect toss between shorts & pants, I knew that it belonged with me. Several days later I was perusing their site again, and low and behold I spotted the perfect accomplice via a matching duster. Yes it is pink on pink. Yes it is monochrome. And yes- I love how both pieces look together and I will wear them again and again for as long as I please 😍
Do share, are you a fan of monochrome palettes?!
Until next time,

Xx

Well Babes, here we are in the 1st week of J U L Y!!! Let chapter 7 of 12 commence! Generally, at the mid-year point I like to take a personal self-assessment, to determine what I’ve accomplished, what remains to be accomplished, and specific lessons learned along the way. Do you do something like this? I am actually running a tad late, as June marks the halfway point but this year my annual self review completely slipped my mind. Nonetheless, it is what it is and here I am😄
A few things that I would like to accomplish before the year ends are:
More travel (this is an ongoing goal)
Get back on track with my fresh vegetable juice regimen
Get a full physical
A few things that I have accomplished are:
Travel (thus far I’ve been out of town every single month this year)
Survived the busy season at my office
Reconnected with old friends
And last but certainly not least, a few lessons that I've learned along the way are:
Taking care of my health is important
Continue to say no as appropriate
Believe people when they show you and or remind you who they really are
Perception is everything
Prioritize, prioritize, prioritize
Until next time my Loves,
XO

A Splash of Burgundy

Faux fur vest, available here (free shipping & returns)| Silk blouse: Ralph Lauren, old
Faux leather skirt, available here| Rose gold glitter sandals, available here| Clutch, F21

I previously mentioned (see here) my adoration for UK Clothier Elvi (specializes in premium plus-size clothing). I am excited to bring to you yet another example of why Elvi is now on my list of 'Steadys'. First off, although I love a bargain (who doesn't?), I am more interested in obtaining stylish, quality clothing. I’m cautious about trying new brands, because time and time again I have been disappointed when it comes to the quality of such garments. I have not had that issue at all with Elvi!!  In fact, the more that I experience from their collection, the more that I am truly taken in! A number of designs could be categorized as ‘investment pieces', however the craftsmanship stands for itself, you can expect to enjoy each piece for years to come ;)

This vest is from the AW16 Collection, I mean seriously, it is in a league of it’s on! Each time that I've worn it, the compliments/inquiries pour in. This fact actually encouraged me to make sure that it landed here on the blog sooner than later.  The look and feel of it is luxurious and the color boasts a rich pigment. By the way, did you notice the contrast in detail from faux pony fur to wool? Simply glorious!

I paired his burgundy beauty up with a rose quartz faux leather skirt this time around, but I’ve also pulled it off with medium blue denim jeans, white, and all black. Rose quartz was designated by Pantone as the color of the year for 2016. It actually goes quite well with several traditional Fall hues, including burgundy.

As they say,  ‘There is no time better than the present’, I seized the opportunity to wear my new rose gold glitter sandals yet again (previously introduced here)   =) Not only are they stylish Loves, but I am able to wear them all day long without any discomfort! Woohoo!!! That is the definition of winning in my book! Besides, I’m getting too old to battle the crippling pain of ill made/designed shoes! LOL!

Until next time,
XO
