Finishing Touches

Today's style story features my take on a camo shirtdress styled for transitional wear - from summer to fall. September usually signals the alarm for fall fashion, but sometimes temperatures don't quite match up πŸ˜€. I opted to style this shirtdress off the shoulders, although it was designed to be worn on the shoulders. Additionally, I styled it with both leopard print sandals and black knee-high boots. How you choose to style pieces in your wardrobe all depends on your personal preferences and needs! If it is warm out, I want this dress to be off my shoulders and paired with sandals. If it is a cooler evening but still sunny, I still want my shoulders out, however, I might add in a knee-high boot - plus a floor-length scarf πŸ˜‰
Over to you! How would you style this camo dress? The possibilities truly are limitless!
Until next time,
Xx

Are you loving the blazer dress craze as much as I am?!!!
If you aren't familair with the trend, check out these cute options HERE, HERE, and HERE 😍
I'm all about wardrobe versatility, so I decided to wear a blazer from my current stash as a dress!!!
I styled it with a pair of shorts for additional length - otherwise, my valuables would have been on display 😁 There are soooo many options Babes to incorporate current trends into your style, using what you already have! Like, you can easily swap up out shorts, say for a mini dress.
All in all, I LOVE how this LOOK came together!
Why buy something new if you can utilize what you already have?!

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALL BABES!!!
Full disclosure: Fall hasn't quite made it's way to LA just yet :) Yesterday it was actually 90 degrees - I spent my day laying out at the beach...However, with the official start of fall here, I know its simply a matter of time before cooler daytime temps set in. I have to make sure that I'm prepared, right?! LOL! Absolutely LOVE this sweater dress which also doubles up as a cardigan. The color, the fit, the buttons, and the sleeves! Did you see the sleeves? SO GOOD! This beauty definitely makes the edit for what I'll be reaching for this fall and winter :) What are your go-to pieces for cooler temps?
Until next time,

Suit Loving

Faux fur: ZARA |Jacket: c/o HERE |Pants: c/o HERE |Shoes: ZARA

It's no secret that ELOQUII absolutely kills the style game with their assortment of plus size suits. When they sent over this new set from their Jason Wu/ELOQUII Spring Collection, I was dying to style it 😍
Jason recommends  'choosing a non-traditional color to create a refined look' in the boardroom/at the office. I think this suit in jungle green looks refined yet offers plenty of visual interest.
Over to you Babes, would you rock this at the office?
Until next time,

Rolling in Plaid | Inspired by BeyoncΓ©

plaid coat: c/o HERE| blazer: c/o HERE| wide leg pants: c/o HERE| red purse: HERE| red shoes: similar HERE

Did you miss the time when Beyonce broke the internet yet again, as in last week?! If so, check her out in her full glory HERE. I absolutely LOVE the way that she rocked this entire look! Apparently over two and a half million of her followers felt the exact same way 😍 I instantly knew that I needed to recreate this look on a full-figured frame - namely my own of course, LOL!!! Fortunately my friends at Eloquii agreed with me, they so graciously sponsored this LOOK!
Babes, Bey stuns in a bright orange plaid coat, layered over a tailored menswear-inspired plaid suit with bellbottom pants. She used accessories to play it up by way of a colorful statement bag, a diamond Chanel pin, dark sunglasses, and clear pointy shoes. This look screams Boss Babe!!! I am so HERE for it and much more!
Oftentimes when recreating a look, people feel a need to mirror every single detail exactly. I totally disagree, you can take a concept/idea and make it yours! Yes, OWN IT!
As an example, notice that I selected a suit similar to the one Bey wore, however, I utilized a different color palette. You must know by now how much I LOVE wearing RED, it seemed only natural that red should be my standout color versus orange. Additionally, I opted for vintage rhinestone earrings, a vintage rhinestone pin, a red statement bag, plus red suede shoes. One must improvise when diamond Chanel pieces are not an option 😏 Do share Babes, would you rock this look?! What celebrity's style has inspired you lately?
Until next time,
Xx

Cooler Days

blazer: similar HERE| blouse: ZARA| skirt: c/o HERE| shoes: HERE

Fall blew into Los Angeles over the weekend with gloomy clouds, gusty winds, and steady rain showers. In fact, I had to dodge raindrops to quickly capture a few shots in this look featuring a floral print skirt from the new Draper James for ELOQUII Fall Collection. In case you're not familiar with Draper James, it is a fashion/accessories/home decor brand owned by Reese Witherspoon. Reese says that she started the company 'to honor her Southern heritage, particularly her grandparents who were, and are, the greatest influences in her life'. She also says, "My grandparents taught me everything I know about gracious Southern living. From them I learned to dress and act like a lady, to take pride in my home, to reach out to help a neighbor, and to always invite everyone in for a visit."
I'm wearing the Draper James for ELOQUII Floral Dot Skirt. What I especially love about this midi skirt is that it can easily be styled across seasons! For instance, I can see myself wearing it with a bright yellow tank top during the warmer months 😊 Can you tell I'm missing summer already?! LOL! Since it was chilly, I opted to style it with layers this time around, adding in pops of color by way of red - my lip stain, cape blazer, and shoes.
Until next time Loves,

Extra Sprinkles Please

Sunnies: c/o HERE| Earrings: Similar HERE| Off shoulder top: HERE| Taffeta ballroom skirt: HERE| Clutch: Vintage, thrifted

I've snagged a number of goodies over the past month or so by way of the summer sales that have been stalking my inbox.
Full admission: I completely lacked the desire to try to avoid opening the flood of emails that I received containing spectacular summer sales. SIGH.
Yes, in true shopaholic form, I eagerly opened every  s i n g l e  sale mailer, and then I frantically scrolled through selection after selection only to obtain a few items to add to an already overflowing wardrobe...
And guess what? I HAVE NO REGRETS πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ My top & skirt were both snagged for $20 each!!!!
Ok, ok, I am being a bit sarcastic 😏 I do have control over myself and what I purchase. In fact, I am quite structured and intentional.
I look forward to annual summer sales to obtain items at a great discount, prep for upcoming travel, and to prep for the next  summer.
Am I alone in my strategy? How do you feel about summer sales?!
Until next time,
Xx

Blushing Beauty

Sunnies: HERE| Top: HERE| Purse: c/o Charlotte Russe| Skirt: Similar HERE| Ballet flats: Nordstrom, similar HERE + another great OPTION

Remember that powder blue beauty that I blogged a few days back HERE? Well, as promised I am sharing how I also styled the same dress as a top 😘 This version of the dress just so happens to be a lovely blush hue  πŸ’— I told y'all blush is having a moment!
Background: This ensemble all started from a pin to my bottomless pinterest account, where I save all things great and aspire to try out just about everything, at least once... I pinned an image with this trending color combination and decided that I'd be sure to style something incorporating this color palette just as soon as the weather broke.
Welp, the weather broke! LOL!
I wore this look out & about + to the office. I received a number of compliments, and was delighted that everyone loved the colors together just as much as I did. One family friend repeatedly told me that I looked like a ballerina... hahahahaha!!!! I didn't agree- but I did take it as a compliment😜
This dress worn as a top or a dress is lightweight and breathable - it was perfect for temperatures that reached almost 80 degrees with brief intervals of cool breezes.
Part two: The skirt is a wardrobe veteran, despite it's bright hue it still shines  like a rock star with NO STAINS!!! See other looks HERE & HERE.
Until next time,
XO

Live Colorfully

As 2016 approaches its official end, I cannot help but reflect on the many wonderful experiences that I had this year- culminating with my trip to Africa!!! Yes, it was a hear of highs and lows, but I feel optimistic and determined to gear my focus on all of the positive moments in which I felt my happiest!
Closing out the final month of the year with a trip that most definitely stirred and changed me was without a doubt thee top highlight of the year. The friends that I made, the people I met, the wonderful experiences we shared, all made it truly the trip of a lifetime. As I look forward to 2017 I feel more determined than ever to live in the moment, to fully appreciate my personal journey, to learn from my mistakes, and yes:
to  L I V E  C O L O R F U L L Y!!!

Until next time Loves,
XO
