Finishing Touches

Today's style story features my take on a camo shirtdress styled for transitional wear - from summer to fall. September usually signals the alarm for fall fashion, but sometimes temperatures don't quite match up 😀. I opted to style this shirtdress off the shoulders, although it was designed to be worn on the shoulders. Additionally, I styled it with both leopard print sandals and black knee-high boots. How you choose to style pieces in your wardrobe all depends on your personal preferences and needs! If it is warm out, I want this dress to be off my shoulders and paired with sandals. If it is a cooler evening but still sunny, I still want my shoulders out, however, I might add in a knee-high boot - plus a floor-length scarf 😉
Over to you! How would you style this camo dress? The possibilities truly are limitless!
Until next time,
Xx

Color Crush

Headband: Similar HERE| Sunnies: Sold out, try this pair HERE| Earrings: HERE
Dress: HERE| Patent leather sandals: Similar HERE

RED is my favorite color of all time. The sight of it always serves as an instant mood booster. It is a reminder to appreciate the little things deeply, even something as simple as saturated color. Reminders like this feel more helpful now than ever.
As I look out at the uncertainty of the world scene, I feel compelled to do what I personally can to effect positive, lasting change. I feel encouraged to lean into hope, to repeatedly set an intention to lead with love.
Until next time,
Xx
P.S. For more examples of me in RED, see HERE, HERE, and HERE 😉

Legs for Daze

Hat: Vintage, thrifted| Sunnies: HERE| Earrings: Sold out, another option HERE
Dress: Similar options HERE & HERE| Shoes: HERE

As days blend into weeks, weeks blend into seemingly nameless months - I find that creating space for things that bring me a measure of joy to be especially worthwhile. Crafting my personal sense of style has always been a creative outlet for me, a tool of self-expression. Even in the midst of a whirling international crisis, a pandemic of indescribable proportions, a fragile political landscape - I lean into what I know to be true: Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faith. Mildness. Self-Control.
Sending love & positive energy your way ❤
Until next time,
Xx

Ruffle It Up

Sunnies: Similar HERE| Earrings: Old, another option HERE
Top & Skirt: HERE & HERE (c/o Rebdolls)| Shoes: Sold out; Similar HERE

What's red and comes in a size range from small to 5X? This two-piece coordinates set! I fell for the frilly details on the crop top (size up if you prefer a longer fit like what is pictured here), paired with the maximum effect multi-tiered skirt 💕If this were a regular summer, say one where an infectious disease was not an imminent threat - I'd happily wear this look for Weekend Brunch or Happy Hour!
However, in an effort to make the best of current circumstances, instead I opted to wear this set on a brief mall run, along with a face mask that didn't match and flat shoes 😉 California is pretty much still on lockdown, we had a surge in COVID-19 cases for several weeks straight. The latest news reports indicate that the surge appears to be leveling out - however that can change at any time. How are things in your corner of the world?
Be safe Babes!!!
Until next time,
Xx

Gingham Girl | Take 1 of 2

Earrings: Old, other options HERE + HERE
Top: HERE + similar HERE
Shorts: HERE (I'm wearing a size 12)
Shoes: Similar HERE

A print that is synonymous with summer fashion in addition to florals is G I N G H A M.
Traditional gingham prints are often presented in the classic color duo, black & white.
I'm of fan of the expected, however diversions from the beaten path appeal to me equally.
This pair of gingham shorts from Lane Bryant stood out to me online instantly because they're RED, my favorite color 💞
When they arrived in the mail, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent fit (size 12) and functional side pockets. In my head, there should always be pockets...however I've digressed! Note: There are also faux pockets on the rear of the shorts, however I'm not fond of faux pockets...
I loved these shorts so much that I opted to style them not ONE, but TWO ways 😉
Today's post features a monochrome look, red from head to toe is never too much in my book!
Stay tuned for the second way that I styled this pair of gingham shorts...

Here & There

Hey Babes!!!
I stand in disbelief that this is my very first blog post of the SUMMER 👀 Can you believe it? Hopefully you keep up with me on Instagram and you're already aware that I'm alive and thriving, but in the event that you don't - HERE I AM! 😆How are you?! I have missed you so! I promise: Consistency is on the way!
SUMMER 2019 has been packed with travel, working with brands (including snagging my biggest contract to date🎈🎈🎈), events, and sheer JOY! Since I started blogging way back when I've always struggled in creating the proper balance with being in a moment versus capturing a moment for my blog/social media accounts. If you've been along with me for the ride, you know that nine times out of ten I opt to LIVE in a moment versus capture it on film and share it with others.
However, I've set a few new intentions for myself, included among them is mastering the balance of living a life and sharing it.
Until next time,
Xx

Laid Back Chic

Glasses: HERE| Earrings: Bauble Bar| Top: HERE| Pants: HERE
Purse: HERE or HERE| Sandals: Jeffrey Campbell
Photography by A. Robinson

I spotted this two-piece leopard print set online a couple of weeks ago, immediately I was totally smitten. I added it to my online shopping cart and purchased it right away --> which is a true indication that the likeability factor was HIGH 😁 You see, normally items sit in my online cart for days....and a number of them are periodically moved to my Wishlist, LOL!
When this set arrived by mail it did not disappoint, the fit was on point, it looked exactly the way that I envisioned it in my mind- clearly an added bonus.
I'm partial to the color RED forever and always, it's totally predictable that I opted to pair this ensemble with red sunnies, earrings, lip stain, and sandals😍
Until next time Babes,

Transitioning a Kimono from Summer to Fall

sunnies: TJMAXX| earrings: Bauble Bar| top: Ralph Lauren
pants: c/o HERE| kimono: HERE & HERE| shoes: Old
Photography by A. Robinson

There's a chill in the air Babes! Seriously, I felt it just the other day 😳 I wore a sleeveless jumpsuit (what was I thinking?) and low and behold a stiff breeze came along plus a parade of goosebumps as I raced to my car O_O

Now that we've landed in October, fall-like weather is indeed expected and inevitable. Since I moved to a mild climate, I have learned to style seasonal pieces across every season.
Take for instance this bright and sunny kimono. I purchased it towards the end of spring this year from a line that was specified for summer. However due to the material that it's made from (it has a good weight to it, not heavy, but not light either), its nice long & wide sleeves, plus a medium density lining, this kimono easily becomes a transitional fall piece.
For this look I paired it with a silk top and matching jersey pants. I love this eggplant hue, notice how nicely it pulls out the lilac flowers on the kimono?!
Until next time,
Xx

Beach Please | Part 3

Sunnies: Old| Romper: c/o HERE| Sandals: Nordstrom, old| Clutch: Vintage

TGIF Babes!!! Today's post is my final installment of my blog series surrounding my recent day at the beach. Check out the swimsuits that I wore in part one HERE, and part two HERE.
An ideal, easy to wear beach piece is a romper. Oftentimes we opt for a dress, but really a romper is just as practical. It's super easy to take on and off, and makes for a perfect cover-up over a dry swimsuit. I wore this romper to the beach, and to an oceanside dinner after the beach 😍
Sidebar: I also shared another instance of wearing a romper to/from the beach when I was in Tulum a few months ago on Instagram HERE . If you aren't following me on IG yet, please do! I often share additional looks there, along with snippets on my stories from travel, shopping excursions/deals/steals, and blogger events here in LA ... take for instance yesterday😏
Back to today's post: I noticed something very interesting while at the beach. A majority of the people there were busy trying to capture the moment, or should I say attempting to capture the beauty of beach, but very few were actually sitting back, being still, and truly taking in all of its magnificence. In fact, we were hard pressed to find places to shoot my swimsuits and this romper as practically every single inch of the beach was occupied, with other people taking pictures (some professional photographers) or on professional photo shoots.
It made me think about the hard balance that I try to strike as a blogger --> knowing what I want to capture versus what I want to enjoy. I made a promise that I would return to this beach soon - on another nice day, with no cameras, and really make an effort to truly take it all in, in real time. You see, I believe that there are a multitude of wonderful moments in life that aren't absorbed as they should be, because instead of fully experiencing them in real time, to the fullest extent possible, we try to capture those moments for a future memory, usually in digital form. However I have learned that the best time to fully experience any given moment is now, while you are in the grip of it ❤ The memories that a genuine moment creates, these last for a lifetime.
For instance, during our hike back up the cliff towards the car, we stopped on a landing of sorts for a breather. While there, we took a moment to look out over the ocean, and at all of the beauty that surrounded it.
It was a PERFECT day. The clouds danced beautifully across the sky, the ocean tide rolled in and out with a rhythm of its own, and just beyond the shore - there was an otter or sea lion family. We couldn't tell which one because of the distance, but the one who we assumed was mom was quite massive in size, she stayed further out to sea. All six babies, well they swam and played all the way up to the shore, unbeknownst to probably all of the beach goers. We watched them for about 15 minutes. It was wonderful to see. I did not try to take out my phone or camera to capture them playing.
This was something best experienced in the moment.
Until next time,
XO

Summer Over Spring

Hat: HERE| Earrings: Old, Baublebar| Top: HERE| Palazzo pants: HERE| Purse: Zara, old| Red mules: Old, TopShop - another cute pair HERE

It's officially SPRING Babes!!! YAY, warmer temperatures are finally on the horizon...somewhere...somehow...or are they?! LOL! To be honest, if I could choose, I'd skip right on past spring and dive straight into summer 👀 Good thing I live in a town that usually has only two seasons right? Funny thing is, I can actually remember (just a few years ago) missing the experience of having four full seasons each year. Afterall, I lived 20+ years with spring, summer, fall, and extreme WINTERS 😰But now, from where I stand, I'll take summer all year long 😍 I learned time and time again - you really can adapt to anything, including dreamy weather 24/7!
Over to you, what's your favorite season?
Until next time,
Xx
