Spring Style Options from Karen Kane

When the team at Karen Kane reached out to me to work together on a feature with their spring content, I seized the opportunity! If you're not familiar with the brand, you can find their designs at major retailers such as Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Lord & Taylor, and Macy's. I would describe the brand's style aesthetic as a classic. They offer classic designs that are ideal for workwear, along with casual separates.

Today's blog post features how I styled two items from their spring lineup, specifically with the mindset of day to night wear. Without further ado, let’s get into the details!

For Look #1 I selected a navy tie-waist maxi dress styled with a surplice V-neck and stem-showing front slit. This dress is ideal for the office, however easily transcends into night wear with a few select accessories 😉

For Look # 2, I selected a floral kimono with textural interest. We don’t often think of dark floral prints for spring fashion, but the light, airy feel and fabric of this one makes this an ideal option. I topped it over a tank style LBD (little black dress) plus added in black accessories to highlight the beautiful floral detail.

Hey Babes!!!
I stand in disbelief that this is my very first blog post of the SUMMER 👀 Can you believe it? Hopefully you keep up with me on Instagram and you're already aware that I'm alive and thriving, but in the event that you don't - HERE I AM! 😆How are you?! I have missed you so! I promise: Consistency is on the way! 
SUMMER 2019 has been packed with travel, working with brands (including snagging my biggest contract to date🎈🎈🎈), events, and sheer JOY! Since I started blogging way back when I've always struggled in creating the proper balance with being in a moment versus capturing a moment for my blog/social media accounts. If you've been along with me for the ride, you know that nine times out of ten I opt to LIVE in a moment versus capture it on film and share it with others. 
However, I've set a few new intentions for myself, included among them is mastering the balance of living a life and sharing it.

A Classic Case of Fall Fever

Every woman needs a moto that she can count on, through thick and thin.  I am happy to say that I have found my match, and she is a BEAUT! Gold hardware, zippered pockets, perfect length, and a belt- be still my heart! Of course the biggest style factor of all is it's phenomenally classic leopard print!!!

Fall continues to evade us here in SoCal, I managed to sneak this look in a few weeks ago on a cloudy, cool day :) The way I see it, I really have to seize every opportunity to enjoy Fall fashions, because truly the very next day I could be in the grips of Summer weather!

Now back to this moto: This is a relatively new addition to my collection, I’ve only styled it two or three times to date (I generally like to wear new items at least three times in short succession to get a true feel for them). However, in my head- the style options for it go on and on!  I am most certainly looking forward to playing each one of them out in real life : ) This time around, I took a classic style approach, pairing my leopard friend with a black jersey turtleneck dress and black leather + wool heels.

On Top of the World

I was fortunate to get a shot or two in this look, between appointments, at one of my favorite parks. I’ve read that full figured women should steer clear of stripes because they have the propensity to make you look bigger. While that may be true, I don’t buy into that notion. My sole purpose in getting dressed is not to give the illusion that I am small. Rather it is to feel good in my clothes. Stripes make me feel good so I wear them, as often as I like. This look has become a favorite go to, with horizontal and vertical stripes in full rage =)
