Fall is officially nine days away. Around this time each year, I find myself switching out traditional summer bottoms for denim. Finding great fitting denim pants can be a challenge. I was excited when Lane Bryant reached out to me to try a pair of denim pants from their latest collection. I selected this pair of Signature Fit skinny jeans because in my mind skinny jeans will never go out of style. They look PHENOMENAL on curves! Plus, I LOVE the seam detailing on this pair. Of particular interest to me was the Flex Magic Waistband, which features a no-gap, stretch waistband that moves with you for all-day comfort. My waist size is significantly smaller than my hip size, having a waistband that actually fits is imperative! The jeans that I am wearing in this post are size 12, Babes the fit is AH-MAZING!!! There is just the right amount stretch to make moving around with ease effortless AND the jeans hug your curves 😍. I styled my jeans with a Striped Button-Front Tie-Front Top that can be worn during the day or night as shown here. The look is finished off with Snake Skin Print Sandals - which seriously go with EVERYTHING!

Hey Babes! It isn't every day that I opt to wear all black, as in all black everything from head to toe. Nonetheless, there is an exception to every rule ❤ Especially when it comes to one's personal sense of style! I have a lifelong affection for monochrome looks. Happy HUMP Day Babes! I was recently reminded of the value of great fitting jeans, after a particularly unpleasant experience related on Instagram. I realized that I've been pretty fortunate to find/have jeans that fit my curves very, very well. Case in point - the jeans pictured in today's post. I've had them for at least 5 years! However, they are exceptionally well-made and have stood the test of time. Still, I'll concede that it is time for me to add a few new pairs to my collection. My steady brand has been NYDJ for over ten years, however I am open to trying new/other brands. Please share: What is your favorite brand of jeans and why?

Hey Babes! With fall on the horizon, I am trying my absolute best to start thinking about fall fashion 😊 This top c/o SHEIN makes me think of a mild fall day, plus it is a perfect transitional piece. Here in Southern California, it is easy to enjoy off the shoulder tops all year around. However, if I lived in a cooler climate, I could see it layered with a turtleneck underneath. I paired it with skinny jeans and a pop of color 😏I actually intended to wear matching statement earrings, but would you believe I totally forgot?! LOL! Wondering what to wear this weekend? I have the perfect fit for you 😉 I'm a recent convert to the embellished denim trend, (first pair blogged HERE) now it feels like I just can't get enough of them! The sparkling pair that I am wearing in today's post totally reminds me of the children's lullaby 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star'. Never heard of it? No worries, here's a brief quote:
"Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are!
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky."
LOL! This pair is so cute, but note that the sizing is generous as they have quite a bit of stretch. I recommend sizing down by one, as they will stretch out a bit after one wear 😉 
Honestly, I don't feel like these pictures do the pretty little dots justice...It was so bright/sunny outside when I shot this, you can't truly see how much they really sparkle- by way of white pearls and silver rhinestones. Anywho, for a super chill day (including a run to the office) I paired them with a updated ruffled white shirt, an amazingly long cape (available HERE + save w/ code "inmyjoi20" at checkout), and the feathered mules that have taken my wardrobe by storm...

Hey Babes!
It's been a minute! If you follow me on IG you already know that I've been on vacation - soaking up ALL of the sun and inhaling wonderful food 😆Once I  got back to the States I immediately came down with a terrible cold, and actually - I'm still battling it 😔 and completely open to any home remedies that you'd like to share...  Anyhow as the saying goes, 'The show must go on'... I got back to the business of a routine right away. Needless to say I was/am wayyyy behind on opening mail/packages/creating blog posts/etc.,. 
I opened a slew of mail last weekend, my heart just about jumped out of my chest when I laid eyes on this gloriously soft, supple, suede moto jacket c/o Rebel Wilson X Angels. GUYS!!!! 
THIS MOTO JACKET IS E V E R Y T H I N G !!!!!!!! It's fits like a dream, feels amazing, the color/saturation ratio is LIFE, and - it has four REAL pockets! I 💗 POCKETS! Especially functional pockets 😏 I mean, what is the purpose of decorative/faux pockets anyway?! Okay, I've digressed...back to the matter at hand: 
This moto EXCEEDED my expectations! I wore it out immediately. It will be on repeat IRL...I couldn't wait to share it with you! And guess what: It's on sale NOW!

Out of the Blue

Several weeks ago, I treated myself to an afternoon of mid-week shopping. I got valet parking and took my time walking from store to store over a two-block stretch.  In my opinion, mid-week shopping is more enjoyable than weekend shopping because stores aren’t full of the masses, parking tends to be a breeze (versus circling 5+ times - a common issue in Los Angeles), and store displays/racks are neat and fully stocked. Crowded stores and messy displays/racks are a complete turn off for me. In fact, once we enter the official holiday shopping period, when things tend to go absolute haywire -I’ll be steering clear of brick & mortar stores… unless they are open around or after midnight… Shopping after hours often offers the same perks as midweek shopping. Moving on, I perused store after store, but nothing caught my eye. I decided to cross the street, and check out a store that I don’t frequent nearly enough. Almost immediately I spotted this lush, navy blue kimono. It was ❤ at first sight. I tried it on, it was the exact fit that I wanted: slightly oversized AND ankle length. The embroidered detail was so intricate, it seemed to make the flowers come to life. Needless to say, it found a new home with me.
Every time I wear this beauty, I get so many compliments. I love that it can be dressed up or down, depending on your mood/need. For today’s look, I wore it casually, with a monochrome color palette. I pulled out a pair of dark denim jeans that a brand sent me a month or so ago. I honestly was surprised with how well and comfortably they fit 😀Why? New brands oftentimes miss the mark when it comes to the quality and fit that I am accustomed to. However that was not the case with this one! Pleasant surprises are the absolute best! Duster Appeal

If it seems like I’ve been MIA just a tad, it’s totally true! It’s so hard for me to stay on track with my blog when I’m out of town 😊 I had great plans of how I’d stay on track this time around but I tell ya, the struggle is REAL! Thankfully a friend of mine snagged a few photos of me in this look after our breakfast date.
I’ve been on a kimono kick this month, today’s style story features a kimono style duster. Personally I prefer long, over-sized kimonos - this beauty totally fits the bill. Note: Size up if you like an over-sized fit 😉 
This print reminds me of flowers blooming at night 😍 Dark florals have always been a favorite of mine. Some people prefer to wear them during the cool weather months, but truthfully dark florals can be pulled off during the summer months equally well.
I kept my look simple by pairing the kimono with a nude tank and my staple skinny jeans. I tossed in leopard print sandals for a simple yet fun pattern mix. I’m looking forward to styling this beauty next with a monochrome palette.

Frills by Fringe

Sometimes the best way to tackle a trend is in pairs. Take for instance this frill loving bodysuit. I bought it at the beginning of the year (still available HERE) but held off on wearing it until I had something optimally suited to pair it with. I tried it on with several pieces in my wardrobe, but for some reason or another they ended up being a no-go 👀
When I acquired this fringed pair of jeans (HERE) I felt like I finally had the perfect partner for this topper! Black and denim are commonly worn together, but that’s not what sealed the deal for me.
Can we talk visual balance for a moment? Visual balance is often discussed regarding interior/exterior decorating, but not as much when it comes to getting dressed. I am a fan of balance, even when it comes to my clothes. Since this bodysuit packs volume on the top, I liked the proportional balance added by the fit and frayed edge of my jeans (these are super high-waisted BTW).
To seal the deal, I added in a few touches of glam with a gold skinny belt and gold booties. Oh yeah, plus my KS bag which has been on repeat as of late (see my Instagram post HERE). Pause: I have to tell you about these booties! They are by far the most comfortable pair I have ever owned!!! The leather is soft and breathable, the heel height is low, and the width around the toe area is perfection. Literally they feel like I barely have any shoes on – I wish they had them in more colors b/c I would buy them all!
