Shoulder Appeal

Headband: Sold out, another option HERE| Earrings: Sold out; close match HERE
Top: Older, check out this one HERE
Jeans: Similar HEREHEREHERE| Sandals: Sold out, try THESE

Another dive in my closet revealed yet another top with tags intact that I've never worn 😊 I scored this shirt last year during summer (gifted),however because of its long sleeves it was pushed to the back of my closet. I love the cold shoulder detailing, along with the top foldover design. However, the midriff cut and faux pullover feature confused me then and now 😅 To be fair, I wanted to style it at least one time to determine whether or not it is indeed a keeper, of if I will add it to my donate stack.
I thought it was a perfect match for my go-to skinny jeans, I added in mustard accessories by way of a jeweled headband and sandals and hit the door. All in all I was pleased with how this look came together!  Nonetheless, I am still leaning towards donating this top...LOL!
Until next time,
Xx

Fringe Factor

Sunnies: c/o HERE | Denim fringe jacket: c/o HERE
White denim jeans: Similar HERE + another option HERE| Shoes: Kenneth Cole, sold out

Hey Babes!
Today's post is all about the denim fringe jacket you never knew you needed 😁 No, but seriously - if you are a collector of denim jackets, this one may catch your eye! I have more than a few denim jackets/vests in my current inventory, however, none of them boast fringe detailing! I L💖VE how the fringe takes center stage!
I found the fit of the jacket to be a tad too large for my taste (I'm wearing a size 0XL), so I knotted it just above my waist and styled it as a crop top 😉 This offered the exact fit that I envisioned! Always remember: In fashion, everything is fair game!
Until next time,

Fall Refresh | Style a Dress Over Pants

earrings: old| dress: HERE| jeans: similar HERE| shoes: similar HERE| faux fur bag: another option HERE

I'm always looking for ways to test the versatility of my wardrobe and to play with fashion. I like to think outside the box whenever possible, even when/if it makes me feel somewhat uncomfortable.

I first tried the concept of wearing a dress over pants back in 2014. I was super curious as to how it would play out on my body, as it is full-figured and curvy. Generally you see the trend of dresses styled over pants only on thin and or tall models. Nonetheless, I decided to go for it. Wouldn't you know- I JUST LOVED IT!
Previously I've styled shorter dresses with slim cut pants, but the look shown in today's post is my very first time styling a long dress over pants --- and wide leg pants at that!
Let's break all the fashion faux pas at once, right?!?! LOL!
The idea sprung from one weekly session in my closet, which actually led to a disastrous tornado-like effect... Clothes were everywhere...as they often are...Yet, back to the topic at hand...
I purchased this white dress at an end of summer sale for a GREAT price. It was originally $500... Naturally, I wanted to create an opportunity to wear it this year versus waiting until next summer. However, an added caveat was that I also wanted it to align with fall fashion versus just styling it as a summer dress - which I totally will, at a later date. After a few try-on sessions, plus the acquisition of a cute white faux fur tote, this look fell into place ❤
Over to you Babes: Are you into dresses over pants?!
Until next time,
Xx

Happy HUMP Day Babes! I was recently reminded of the value of great fitting jeans, after a particularly unpleasant experience related on Instagram. I realized that I've been pretty fortunate to find/have jeans that fit my curves very, very well. Case in point - the jeans pictured in today's post. I've had them for at least 5 years! However, they are exceptionally well-made and have stood the test of time. Still, I'll concede that it is time for me to add a few new pairs to my collection. My steady brand has been NYDJ for over ten years, however I am open to trying new/other brands. Please share: What is your favorite brand of jeans and why?
Until next time,

Hey Babes! Today's style story features a print that is synonymous with FALL: Leopard print! How do you rock leopard print?! I LOVE that this fun animal print can serve as a neutral hue, a statement piece, or as a base for pattern mixing.
As you can see, I've styled this tunic not one, not two, but THREE ways! Versatility is key in the style game 😏 Experiment with your wardrobe - play dress up - you can create new ways to wear staple pieces!
Which look is your favorite?! My personal favorite is the tunic paired with the pink skirt ❤
There are a number of CUTE spotted pieces up for grabs this season, here are a few items that are currently on my radar:

Leopard print jumpsuit

Alas, FRI-YAY has arrived Babes!!! I was talking to my grandma yesterday, I told her that I got my days mixed up. She said, 'You were ready for the week to be over' -  she was right! My schedule is a full one, time/days pass by rather quickly. Yet, as a general rule of thumb: I am always READY for the weekend!
I've read those sappy quotes about creating a life that you don't need/want to escape from- but for me, no matter what kind of life I have, I will always APPRECIATE downtime to the FULLEST! Yes, I enjoy my secular work, as a whole I am happy and content with my life (give or take a few ups and downs). Still, there is no feeling comparable to the eureka that I feel when the weekend comes on, LOL! Time hanging with friends, an inordinate amount of time spent doing absolutely nothing (my personal fav), and lest we forget - legendary weekend naps.
I LOVE TO SLEEP! Just thinking about it makes me feel g👀d...
Now let's talk about clothes: I can remember a time when I steered away from wearing capes. Why? I felt that they were unflattering to my frame. You see, I am a full-figured woman 😉 For quite some time this thought was promoted: 'You should never wear anything that makes you look bigger than you actually are'. I didn't want to look bigger than I was, so I discarded the handful of capes that I had, including a super cute cream colored wool cape with fox tail trim 😕...
Fast forward almost a decade later, here I am, back cloaked in a cape, thanks to my pals at Gwynnie Bee 😀 I selected this beauty for my virtual closet, you know, just to see -and wouldn't you know, I LOVE it!? Like seriously! It reminds me of a tuxedo jacket! I am thinking about purchasing it, it is a perfect fall/winter piece for Cali's version of cold weather. But if/when I do, I would size down. I found the fit to be quite generous, even with sizing down, I could still wear a chunky sweater or turtleneck underneath it.

Duster Appeal

Sunnies: c/o HERE| Duster: c/o HERE| Tank: Similar HERE| Denim skinnies: NYDJs, old| Leopard sandals: Old, Similar HERE| Handbag: Zara

If it seems like I’ve been MIA just a tad, it’s totally true! It’s so hard for me to stay on track with my blog when I’m out of town 😊 I had great plans of how I’d stay on track this time around but I tell ya, the struggle is REAL! Thankfully a friend of mine snagged a few photos of me in this look after our breakfast date.
I’ve been on a kimono kick this month, today’s style story features a kimono style duster. Personally I prefer long, over-sized kimonos - this beauty totally fits the bill. Note: Size up if you like an over-sized fit 😉
This print reminds me of flowers blooming at night 😍 Dark florals have always been a favorite of mine. Some people prefer to wear them during the cool weather months, but truthfully dark florals can be pulled off during the summer months equally well.
I kept my look simple by pairing the kimono with a nude tank and my staple skinny jeans. I tossed in leopard print sandals for a simple yet fun pattern mix. I’m looking forward to styling this beauty next with a monochrome palette.

Ciao Loves,
XO

Orangeburst

Sunnies: c/o HERE| Blouse: c/o HERE| Wood watch: c/o HERE| White denim: NYDJs, similar HERE| Purse: c/o HERE| Sandals:Old

Hey Babes!!! Here we are at the start of yet another week- let's make it a GREAT one!
Today's post is short & sweet 😀 After all, it's a Monday, we're all trying to catch up from the weekend... Plus, don't the pictures speak for themselves?! LOL!
ORANGE is having a moment again (remember this LOOK), just about everywhere that I've shopped over the past few months seems to have a number of citrus inspired pieces available.
I love the vibrant starburst hue of this blouse, and how the designer effortlessly added in embroidery w/o it looking odd in the least. Some embroidered clothing looks weird to me... like the embroidery doesn't really go with or compliment the item/design, but was rather just thrown on it for the sake of a trend😔
This top is different, I like how it is made and styled  + the fiery color. It will be added to my repeat offender list for rotation this summer!
For its first run out into the real world, I styled it with slim cut white denim jeans, strappy thong sandals, and a matching novelty bag for good measure.
Until next time,
XO

Checks & Balances

Linen blazer: Sold Out| Mustard blouse: c/o HERE| Windowpane pants: Old| Fishnet socks: Nordstrom
Sandals: Old, other options HERE & HERE| Tote: c/o HERE

Have you recently acquired a piece that you've been on a mission to find? So have I!!! I recently scored the most perfect white linen blazer, which has literally been on my "To buy" list for at least 3 years. I was overjoyed when I finally found it while away on travel.
It's not that there haven't been others (every season a batch of white blazers hits the scene)...but there was always something about them that didn't suit my fancy: price, fit, or design. Now that I think about, fit is really a big factor for me when it comes to blazers. This explains why I don't own many - nor do I care for most pantsuits.
A boxy top/jacket feels awkward (and it looks the part IMO) on my curvy frame, for me the secret to mastering it lies in a tailored look. When I scored this number at Nordstrom a few months ago, I really was in shock and disbelief! The fit was perfect AND it was on SALE (insert happy dance). Since then, I have  had the joi of discovering just how many things my newest addition goes with (see another look HERE) in my current wardrobe 😤
Today's ensemble is an example of such. I pulled out these pants from storage, added a dash of mustard and wah-la ⇒ an easy #ootd was born! I look forward to additional discoveries with this newbie 😉
Until next time,
XO

Graphic

Happy Friday Loves!!! Today's look features my first spin a graphic t-shirt! No one likes a so-called "nice" compliment that comes back around and slaps you in the face! Pretty is pretty: Period!
