Hey Babes!
It's been a minute! If you follow me on IG you already know that I've been on vacation - soaking up ALL of the sun and inhaling wonderful food πŸ˜†Once I  got back to the States I immediately came down with a terrible cold, and actually - I'm still battling it πŸ˜” and completely open to any home remedies that you'd like to share...  Anyhow as the saying goes, 'The show must go on'... I got back to the business of a routine right away. Needless to say I was/am wayyyy behind on opening mail/packages/creating blog posts/etc.,.
I opened a slew of mail last weekend, my heart just about jumped out of my chest when I laid eyes on this gloriously soft, supple, suede moto jacket c/o Rebel Wilson X Angels. GUYS!!!!
THIS MOTO JACKET IS E V E R Y T H I N G !!!!!!!! It's fits like a dream, feels amazing, the color/saturation ratio is LIFE, and - it has four REAL pockets! I πŸ’— POCKETS! Especially functional pockets 😏 I mean, what is the purpose of decorative/faux pockets anyway?! Okay, I've digressed...back to the matter at hand:
This moto EXCEEDED my expectations! I wore it out immediately. It will be on repeat IRL...I couldn't wait to share it with you! And guess what: It's on sale NOW!
For its grand debut, I paired it with skinny jeans also c/o Rebel Wilson X Angels - see previous post HERE for my first impression on the fit of ther denim.
Did you notice how the metallic side stripe is ingeniously placed? You can see it from the side and the front view - super cute & fun!
Until next time,
Xx

An Appreciative Introvert

Hey Style Lovers! I feel like I’ve been missing in action. Well, the only explanation I can give is: Life has been happening, over and over, and over again. Despite a busy life schedule, I feel GOOD! As a matter-of-fact, during my down time I came across an article that has prompted me to open up and share something personal about myself: "I am an introvert."

Many sources say that most personalities can be categorized as extroverted or introverted. An extrovert according to Merriman-Webster is ‘a friendly person who likes being with and talking to other people; i.e. an outgoing person’. In contrast, “introverts are drained by social encounters and energized by solitary, often creative pursuits. Their disposition is frequently misconstrued… many introverts socialize easily; they just strongly prefer not to.”
-Psychology Today
As far back as I can remember, I have always felt a sense of dread when it came to attending social functions. From toddler age sleepovers, to high school parties, I never gained the same level of satisfaction or fulfillment from engaging socially as others seemed to around me- if any fufillment at all. Not to say that I didn’t or that I don’t enjoy socializing at times.  After all, this blog produces regular evidence that I do love to dress up-LOL! But seriously, I have observed that frequent social interactions do not necessarily add value to my life. Often they leave me feeling, well, in a word: tired. Confession: There are times when the only highlight in attending a social function for me is simply getting dressed!
Some introverts would say that they wish that they were extroverts, and could somehow break free from their ‘shell’. Personally, I do not feel that way. I’m not in a shell, I don't feel socially awkward, nor do I have a mild personality. It is a part of who I am to limit my social interactions! Being able to take a step back and to think introspectively makes me the woman that I am- I am very appreciative for that.  The world would be remiss if every single individual possessed the exact same traits. I relish in the freedom of being an introvert! I don’t have a problem with saying “No”, I can stand alone.  If you’re an introvert like me, bask in the strength that you have from within. Embrace your differences! And if you happen to be an extrovert - love an introvert ;) I'm so happy that one loves me !

Until next time,
X

Winging It

"Oh wings, lift me up, bring me low
Oh wings, just where, I could go
-
Oh wings, gift me breezes, show me sights
Oh wings, glide me high, through city nights
-
Oh wings, make me warm, hold me dear
Oh wings, protect me, from all fear"
~Joi
The poem quoted above was written last night by yours truly. I believe that I have mentioned before here on the blog how I feel that I am a writer at heart. As the saying goes, life happens, and over the past few years I've gotten away from writing. I set a goal to begin writing again, even keeping a daily journal once more. Doing so always gave me a good feeling.
Sometimes goals can feel insurmountable, but the key lies in getting started. Everyone has to start, yes everyone has to start: somewhere.
Moving on to my super cute wing prop for today's post, aren't they fantastic?! I've been eyeing them for too long, even siking myself up to believe that I had to have on a super fancy outfit to take a picture in front of them.
As you can see, I finally threw that unnecessary notion to the wind. I propped myself in front of the wings in a casual two piece denim pinstripe set, and we snapped away.
Words to live by: Carpe Diem :)

Seize the moment my lovies!

Thrift Store Score: About Blue

Hi there Style Lovers! I feel like I've been MIA; coming back from vacation can make it difficult to get back on schedule. Nonetheless as I make efforts to return to what is my normalcy, here's a new #ThriftStoreScore !
I've divulged exactly how I feel about the color blue. It is my favorite color.
The ease and flow of this vintage number was right up my alley. You do know that I bat for Team Vintage 90% of the time right?! LOL!
I like the detail on the caps of the sleeves and the subtle print throughout.
This is a #ThriftStoreScore at $1.60! Being stylish can truly be affordable and practical.
Now this dress leans toward the traditional side of the fence, so for personality and flair I added a statement necklace and silver oxfords.
Also, fun sunnies never hurt, right? Here's my philosophy: When in doubt = add shades! (I posted a confession on my Instagram account about my 'Shade' collection...)
Notice I added a blue clutch, mainly because I tend to like for my clothes and accessories to match. Oh, and blinged bangles! Ah yes, the little details.
Unfortunately it's time to say 'Until next time' beauties! If you'd like to see more #ThriftStoreScores click here or you may click the tab near the header of this page.

Thanks for stopping by & and I look forward to reading your comments below!

White Swirls on Black with Bling & Metallics

Hey!
Over the weekend I stopped by a local Nordstrom Rack to check out their #ClearTheRack sale. Actually, I almost forgot about it, but thankfully my husband reminded me and we stopped by after Sunday brunch. I’m so glad that we did!  Why? Well, all clearance items were an additional 25% off! By now I’m sure that you know I am a thrifty enthusiast! I absolutely delight in good deal! I managed to pick up a pair of metallic oxfords that I’ve had my eye on for quite some time. It’s not that they were super expensive or anything; it’s just that I was a little unsure as to how they would tie in with my current wardrobe. I wanted to try them out, but didn’t necessarily want to invest in a pair. Well, as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait J

I was thrilled with the rock bottom price that I got them for!

Once I got them home, I set about searching through my closet to see what I’d wear them with first.

Here’s what I decided on:

I paired them with black socks, and an a-line skirt. It seems like I’ve been on a black & white kick for the past year or so. I added a statement necklace to pull out the silver in the oxfords, and my Little Minka handbag for a pop of color.
I added a pair of 60’s themed sunnies to complete the look.

I was pleased with the outcome!
Added bonus: I got a lot of stares at the office, which always means that I’m on the right track-LOL!
Over to you, do you like the oxfords trend with skirts and or dresses? How do you style your oxfords?
Thanks for stopping by!
