Sleeve Patrol

earrings: Free People (these are super cute too)| dress: c/o HERE| suede pumps: DSW

It's no secret that I l❤ve an off the shoulder number (see HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE just for starters), the fact that this festive dress is adorned with colorful stripes and fabulous statement sleeves makes it all the better. I consider it perfect for a cocktail themed event and or a night out on the town.
Initially, I planned to style it with black sandals... but at the last minute I decided to play up the turquoise colored stripes by adding in matching statement earrings (that I've never worn) and a classic suede pump.
I totally love how this look came together, I'm looking forward to wearing this fit out on the town ๐Ÿ˜‰

HELLO Summer

sunnies: similar HERE| top: similar HERE| skirt: old| suede sandals: HERE| straw bag: similar HERE

Summer 2018 came in with a BANG - and by a BANG I mean it came crashing through with an I N T E N S E  heatwave๐Ÿ’ฅ I freely admit, I am an advocate for summer living all year long, however the 1st heatwave of summer 2018 totally caught me unaware! It's true, we're in mid-July, the time of the year when temperatures are supposed to soar up up and away. This is my favorite season!!! Nonetheless, while I've been out and about trying to live my best life, this heat has been draining all of my energy in brute force! For example: Every time I spend any amount of time walking around during the hours of 12-6p, I instantly feel completely tapped out, and in desperate need of a nap. A few things that help me to feel refreshed along with regular naps (a fav pastime): Drinking lots of water, eating sweet fruit (watermelon & cherries come to mind), rooftop siestas, fresh ice cream, and maxing out the AC.
Over to you: How are you managing heatwave season?
Until next time,
Xx

The High and Low

Dress: c/o HERE (sign up for a free trial membership)
Purse: Coach, vintage| Sandals: Sold out

Hey Babes! I can't tell you how many times I've tried to sit down and type up a new post...
No matter what I did - I just could not focus.
First of all, my first week back into my norm after vacation has been extremely busy. E X T R E M E L Y. Secondly, I've been in a bit of a funk. Just blah. And blue. And sad. Last but not least, I experienced a touch of  writer's block, like everything that I tried to put down on paper couldn't/wouldn't come together the way that I envisioned.
Alas,  the weekend has arrived! I'm enjoying a spell of peace and quiet...although my furbaby Cotton Candy is subtly harassing me at this very moment ๐Ÿ˜Š
I can think clearly and uninterrupted, finally I am able to start pushing out posts again - YAY!
The dress featured in today's post is c/o my Gwynnie Bee membership. I really enjoy the ease of not being committed to purchase anything, especially trendy pieces like this dress. If you're not familiar with Gwynnie Bee's retail subscription service, check out another post I wrote HERE
In short, you can have a endless wardrobe, never wearing the same outfit twice, plan pricing is based on how many items you choose to have out at a given time, and they offer styles in sizes 0-32. WHOO HOO!
While perusing new items, I took note of this dress because I liked the high low hem, and was somewhat intrigued by the unique color compilation used to make up the stripe pattern. When it arrived in the mail, and I actually saw it in person, I wasn't sure if I liked it. I decided to give it a spin out for a day at the office. This is the place where I practically trial run everything! The final verdict, what I liked:
*The soft material
*The ease of wear
*The high low hem - Notice how it flows in the wind? LOL!
Sidebar: A underrepresented benefit of high low dresses is that they offer the perfect balance to a full on maxi dress or a full on midi dress. If you don't like maxi dresses per se, or perhaps midi length dress - why not try out a high low?
Until next time,
Xx

Rainbow Bright

Sunnies: c/o HERE| Earrings: HERE| Top: c/o HERE|  Skirt: HERE| Apple purse: c/o HERE| Red sandals: Older, similar options HERE & HERE

How was your weekend Loves?! Mine was pretty good- I mean just that fact that it was a W E E K E N D makes it GOOD right?!

Today’s style story revolves around this rainbow-like beauty (actually called Vibrant by the retailer) that I spotted HERE a few weeks back. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the rainbow color combination and the full/midi length design. I was skeptical about ordering it because I wasn’t sure how voluminous it would be or if its design would prove to be bulky on me… I read through the reviews and decided to throw my apprehensions to the wind- if it didn’t work out I’d simply send it back! Well it arrived and wouldn't you know that it totally met my best expectations. Don’t you love it when that happens?!
Sidebar: Reading reviews are super helpful for me when ordering clothing online. I especially love it when I can see pictures of an item on actual customers versus the brand/retailer's model.
Back to the story: I already had an idea in mind to pair this skirt with red (my childhood favorite color – stories of which I’ve bored you with several times) and this OTS top was a perfect companion.
Actually, I have an ample selection of OTS (off the shoulder) tops right now, the thought has crossed my mind of what will I do when I’m tired of this effect (I'm a chronic planner)… The obvious conclusion is that a few favorites will make the cut- while others will be donated during my monthly purge cycle(s). Even still, have you noticed that it is a challenge to find/purchase a top nowadays that isn’t off the shoulder? Hopefully when the times comes, designers/brands/retailers will step up and get back to the business of providing regular old fashioned shirts- LOL! Until then: Long live shoulders!!!!
Ciao for now,
Xx

Mixed Elements

Is it just me or is blush totally having a moment?! Today's style story pairs the blushing hue with an unexpected combination of elements: Lace, crystals, knit, and velvet ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“
When I received my latest batch of goodies from GWYNNIE BEE (a clothing subscription service, try their services for FREE HERE) I was so siked that this RR pencil skirt made the cut! Warm horizontal stripes (a totally unexpected combination of colors), a fantastic knit texture with a great fit, AND a hint of blush! YESSSSS!!! I reveled in the fact that yet another opportunity was just over the horizon for me to flush in blush ๐Ÿ‘Œ
This ensemble provides a classic example of how I like to transition cool weather wear to Spring effortlessly: Add lace ๐Ÿ‘€ LOL!
It's true-  I would totally style this skirt differently if the temperatures were cooler (I'm thinking of a turtleneck, leather blazer, tights, and booties), but since they are delightfully on the rise I opted for a bell sleeved lace blouse and wonderfully soft velvet sandals ๐Ÿ˜‰
I'm so glad the Spring has Sprung, Gwynnie Bee has a number of fantastic warm weather options and I cannot wait to frolic in all of them! I'm working with GB this month to spread the word, please do check out what they have to offer for the curvy woman and sign up for one month ABSOLUTELY FREE❣

Summer Blues

Sunnies: Asos| Earrings: Vintage| Dress: Gabby Skye| Shoes: Mix No. 6| Purse: MMS

Hey Loves! I’m so happy that I finally got to blog this dress that I scored on sale at Nordstrom Rack last year. This was actually my very first time wearing it, and I’m kinda glad that I waited because since then I found these sandals which are a perfect match =) Actually, now that I think about it, I intended to blog this dress a few months back for a colored stripes theme. While getting ready I unknowingly dripped foundation on the skirt of the dress, like a considerable amount. When I saw it, I totally thought I had ruined it O_O I tried a tip that worked for me in the past to remove oil: I used soap and saturated the stain. Next I did a quick mist of stain remover over it. Popped it in the dirty clothes hamper…and completely forgot about it! LOL! Any who once I got around to the laundry, there it was and I was nervous that maybe I had waited too long to wash it and get all the foundation out. Wouldn’t you know that it came out looking brand new?! Whoo hoo!!! Perhaps that tip will come in handy for you one day ; )

Until next time,
XO
