The Last Straw

hat: HERE| earrings: similar HERE + HERE| top: HERE
overalls: similar HERE| shoes: similar HERE| purse: ZARA

If there's one item that I've worn on repeat this summer, it is my oversized straw hat. I purchased this hat last summer, yet it shows absolutely no signs of wear & tear. Not only does it add something extra to every look that I pair it with, but it also serves a functional purpose. The heat and sun have been so intense this year, my hat keeps me cool and shields me from the elements. I plan to purchase this hat in black (when my size restocks), plus I wish they offered it in navy blue, and RED 💓
Over to you Babes, what items have you worn on repeat this summer?!
Until next time,
Xx

One of my favorite things to do style wise is to mix old and new pieces together. For instance, I have an eternal love for vintage pieces, you'll find them mixed in with just about any look that I wear. Take today's look as an example. Can you easily spot the vintage add-ons? I scored this red vintage straw style hat at a thrift shop a few years back, and the handbag was also a vintage find about 5 years ago. I love classic pieces, their style value and potential is limitless. In fact, in my opinion, oftentimes the quality of a vintage piece far exceeds modern day craftsmanship.
Until next time,

Siren Call

Sunnies: HERE| Earrings: ZARA| Dress: c/o HERE| Sandals: Similar HERE| Clutch: Similar HERE

I began picking out what clothes I would wear each day in elementary school. Red was my absolute favorite color, in fact I wore it so frequently that my uncles nicknamed me after it. As time went on, thankfully I developed a full appreciation for the entire color wheel. By the time I reached my early 20s, bold colors were my signature style in fashion and decor. No matter what other color comes into my life, red will always have a special place in my heart 💓
I snagged the dress in today’s post during a recent run to JCPenney. The color, the cut, the sleeves- the answer was YES from 1st sight 💕 Thus far I've styled it twice, which really means I love it according to my husband, who says that whenever I get something new that I really love I have to wear it multiple times in short succession 😃
I first wore the dress a couple of weeks ago to a blogger sale in LA and then secondly to a party with my husband. For both venues (which were a day apart) it was an absolute hit- plainly speaking, this dress is a WINNER Ladies! So much so, I packed it away for a third run on a getaway with the Hubster- thus the pictures in today's post.
Now online the color is listed as “red”, but is it a true red? It really reminds me of the color of another dress that I recently wore, also on the blog HERE. Remember my spring fling, Fire Orange?!
Hmmm, shall we call this dress ‘Exhibit B’? Please see my previous blog post HERE for full context.
Until next time Loves,
XO

Mixed Elements

Is it just me or is blush totally having a moment?! Today's style story pairs the blushing hue with an unexpected combination of elements: Lace, crystals, knit, and velvet 💓💓💓
When I received my latest batch of goodies from GWYNNIE BEE (a clothing subscription service, try their services for FREE HERE) I was so siked that this RR pencil skirt made the cut! Warm horizontal stripes (a totally unexpected combination of colors), a fantastic knit texture with a great fit, AND a hint of blush! YESSSSS!!! I reveled in the fact that yet another opportunity was just over the horizon for me to flush in blush 👌
This ensemble provides a classic example of how I like to transition cool weather wear to Spring effortlessly: Add lace 👀 LOL!
It's true-  I would totally style this skirt differently if the temperatures were cooler (I'm thinking of a turtleneck, leather blazer, tights, and booties), but since they are delightfully on the rise I opted for a bell sleeved lace blouse and wonderfully soft velvet sandals 😉
I'm so glad the Spring has Sprung, Gwynnie Bee has a number of fantastic warm weather options and I cannot wait to frolic in all of them! I'm working with GB this month to spread the word, please do check out what they have to offer for the curvy woman and sign up for one month ABSOLUTELY FREE❣

Shoulder Swag

It’s a guaranteed good time when I step into an animal print dress with billowy sleeves and style appeal! This gypsy inspired number is such a fun wear, I opted for a pop of added color by infusing fuchsia colored tights to the mustard color mix. The fit is over-sized, I am shoulder obsessed: What better way to add in more fun via a white button-up shirt underneath and a hint of shoulder swag! If you prefer a tailored look, I recommend sizing down.
Sidebar:  Would you believe that I have had these tights 5 years or more?! Seriously, I love the fact that they are truly solid opaque and have functioning control top! They are by DKNY and although they can be a bit pricey- they stand the test of time!

Until next time Babes,
XO
