The Catsuit Revisited

Catsuit: Old, similar HERE| Cutoff shorts: Sold out, try HERE
Sandals Via Spiga, another option HERE
Photography by A. Robinson

With the cooler months of fall just over the horizon, we start to think about what we'd like transitional wear to look like. Layering is a classic staple for fall weather, even here in SoCal. Fall days are often sunny and mild, but the evenings can be starkly cool in comparison.
I opted to turn a pair of cutoff summer shorts into optimal transitional wear by layering them on top of a full-body catsuit. I LOVE how this look came together! It would be ideal for date night, or a girl's night out. For even cooler temperatures, I would add additional layers in the form of a cropped jacket, perhaps a cute scarf, plus statement booties πŸ˜‰
Over to you, how do you like to style transitional clothing?
Until next time,

Shades of Melon

Scarf: Vintage, thrifted
Earrings: Same brand, similar option HERE
Dress: c/o HERE + see other options HERE, HERE, and HERE
Bag: Old, similar HERE & HERE

There's something to be said about showing up in color. It is bold, captivating, and oftentimes saturated. I have never been more proud to be a Black, African-American woman than now. And, I've always been proud.😜
A movement has struck the country, which in turn spilled over into most of the world to end hundreds of years of systemic racism, police brutality & murder, along with overall racial injustice towards people with black or brown skin.
Where do you stand on this issue? The time for change is now.
Until next time,
Xx

Off the Clock

Jumpsuit: c/o HERE| Purse: Old, another option HERE| Shoes: HERE + another option HERE

Hey Babes!
Today's look features a wonderfully comfortable sweater jumpsuit. I snagged it c/o the team at Fashion to Figure, and boy am I glad that I did! This onesie is perfect for transitioning temperatures. Spring fashion is heavily on my mind! This look was made for mild days x chilly nights πŸ˜‰The weight on the knit is noticeably substantial, overall it has a quality feel. My favorite features are the off the shoulder top, double stripe design, and the fitted ankles. This jumpsuit can be easily dressed up or down --> depending on your style needs and preferences. Remember: Personal style is about YOU!
For reference, I am wearing a size 0XL, which is similar to a US numerical size 12. The cut on this piece is generous, if you'd like it to fit tight versus relaxed, you may prefer to size down.
All in all, I was loved how everything came together! I'm curious, how would you style this jumpsuit?!
Until next time,
Xx

Sleeve Patrol

earrings: Free People (these are super cute too)| dress: c/o HERE| suede pumps: DSW

It's no secret that I l❤ve an off the shoulder number (see HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE just for starters), the fact that this festive dress is adorned with colorful stripes and fabulous statement sleeves makes it all the better. I consider it perfect for a cocktail themed event and or a night out on the town.
Initially, I planned to style it with black sandals... but at the last minute I decided to play up the turquoise colored stripes by adding in matching statement earrings (that I've never worn) and a classic suede pump.
I totally love how this look came together, I'm looking forward to wearing this fit out on the town πŸ˜‰

A Fall State of Mind

As I’ve mentioned in my last few posts, we’re currently knee deep in Indian Summer. That is, temperatures have been on the rise as opposed to a significant decrease since the first day of Fall landed. To counteract this phenomenon, I’ve adjusted my mindset and have developed what I like to think of as a ‘Fall State of Mind’.

Yes, although Fall-like temperatures continue to evade us, I am determined to embrace the change of season : )

Fall fashion in my head is associated with dark lush colors, among them being dramatic dark floral prints (see another example here). When I spotted this plus size maxi dress at a recent event co-sponsored by the plus size brand Fashion to Figure, I was taken. It brings in elements of drama, romance, and intrigue.

What I find to be particularly fab, especially given current temperatures (which on this particular day loomed around the 96 degree mark) is that this dress is made of mesh, and is very lightweight and breathable! Yes, although it is black with long sleeves, I still managed to feel refreshed by a passing breeze here and there : )

I opted to style it with black denim, because I was after a different affect. I added in black beads, a patent leather clutch, suede sandals and hit the door. Not only did I feel Fall fashionable, I looked fabulous! LOL!!!

Until next time,
XO
