Cage Me Up

Bell sleeves are high in demand this season. To be honest, I overflowed with excitement at the prospect of adding a few belled lovelies into my collection. Every store I perused, there they were, enticing me, begging to come home with me-LOL! Seriously, the variety of styles currently available is unmatched! From high fashion to fast fashion, from wool to cotton, in tiers, and or embellished – the list really goes on and on.

For my first acquisition of the hot commodity, I finally settled on this  plus size caged body con dress. The exaggerated trumpet sleeves won me over! For a night out, I styled it with a faux fur vest- yet another winner from ELVI :) I especially love the knit detail on the back of the woollen vest, isn't it stylish?! The neutral color palette matched up so very well together, and the added fuzzy layer was extremely practical for chilly night air.

Since my sleeves were clearly doing all of the work, I opted for a minimal approach with accessories and finished off the look with a pair of diamond heart earrings from Kevin Jewelers. They feature ‘dancing’diamonds :) There are pins in place to support a hanging diamond in the middle of the hearts! The hanging diamond stays in motion and appears to twinkle from every direction, so glamorous <3

Statement Check

Hey Loves! Today’s style story features a fantastically unique top from Grass-Fields. They call it ‘Royal’, and I must say- I concur!!! This beauty was/is an absolute pleasure to wear, it turns heads at every corner. I wore it to the office and a co-worker commented on how beautiful it was, stating that I looked like a peacock. I took that as a compliment, although I am not entirely clear on whether or not she meant it as one-LOL!!!

My blog provides ample evidence that I totally bat for Team Bold Color and Team Vibrant Prints (often mixing them up whenever possible). When I saw this top online, I was immediately smitten. Made of fabulous Ankara, boasting a glorious high-low hem, and n adjustable waist cincher- come on, what’s  not to love?!

Summer is in, shoulders are out! Although Fall is just days away here in the States, temperatures have been soaring in a number of areas. Is it hot in your neck of the woods? I didn’t have an opportunity to rock this gorgeous blue dress until now, so I seized the moment over the weekend while temperatures were mega warm. 
Looking back on my last few posts, clearly I am most definitely in a Fall state of mind (see here, here, and here), so I styled this dress with blinding citron colored legwarmers (perfect for FALL) and matching citron tie-up heels. Bold standout color is “in” all year round for this chick! Actually, come to think of it, I need to create more opportunities to wear these beauties (see the last time I wore them here). Come on, how often do we see citron colored legwarmers?! So fab, fun, and functional :)

Minimal Mix + Exciting News

Hello there! How is your week going thus far? Mine is going pretty well, I’m quite happy that we are already at the mid-way point :) Wednesdays mean that FRI-YAY (b.k.a. Friday) is just 48 hours away; YES, the weekend is almost here! Doesn’t awareness that the weekend is closer instantly put you in a good mood?!

Today’s post is the latest installment with the Blogger Babes of Unitedly PLUS (previous posts here, here, and here)! Our theme this month is ‘Mixed Prints’. Mixed prints have become a rotating staple in my wardrobe style preferences; Examples of such have been blogged here a number of times (see instances here, here, here, and here).

Oftentimes the biggest apprehension in reference to pulling off a mixed prints combo is “Where do I begin?”

One of the simplest ways to mix up prints is to work with a classic color duo, i.e. black + white (see another example here). For today’s look I selected a stripe crop top and a vintage high waist houndstooth maxi skirt. Since both are black & white, although different patterns and variations, notice how well they ‘match’ up.

I added a colorful tote & fringed booties to complete the experience. I can totally picture this look modified in several ways, dependent on individual preferences and needs. It feels like a precursor to fall fashion, which is just around the corner…
