As promised, here's another look shot during my recent excursion to the beach! My favorite type of beach day involves laying out in the sun for hours on end, enjoying a bit of solitude, occasionally reading, snoozing, and engaging in thought provoking conversation. Did you notice that I did not mention getting in the water? Haha! The weather has to be extremely hot (usually it is hot in the city, but cooler at the beach) or the water temperature quite warm for me to anticipate frolicking in it. The pacific ocean surrounding Los Angeles boasts a cool temperature almost all year long - I rarely anticipate getting in it. While taking these shots the waves were crashing against the shore continuously, I tried to avoid getting wet but it was impossible.
With such a wide array of swimwear now available in my size, I love taking more than one suit with me to the beach. When I take a beach/water themed vacation, I can totally take a different swimsuit to wear every single day. You can probably guess that when it comes to travel, I am not a light packer...
I really like the color and floral print of this suit, it is bright, summery, and pretty. The fact that a matching sarong was available truly added a golden cherry on top. Sidebar: I am considering wearing this sarong over jeans...π
Fashion is all about having fun!

Is it okay to crush on yourself sometimes?π When I went through the photos taken from a recent outing at the beach, I was thinking to myself,
'Girl, you aren't doing too bad '! π
π
π
I've had a full figure my entire adult life. I embrace it.
This does not mean:
I don't make a concerted effort to make health conscious decisions when it comes to what I eat or whether or not to engage in physical exercise.
It means:
I don't loathe my body.
I try to fully appreciate and focus on the many wonderful things about my body (type/color/and size) and how full functionality of it allows me to enjoy my life.
With that said, it has been several years since I shot a swimsuit look for the blog (recently I've shared occasional shots in swimwear while on vacation on Instagram). Why? Honestly, I had to think about the answer to that question. After a bit of thought, I realized that there were several contributing factors, all of them past tense, none of which I'll bore you with, at least not today! LOL!
Besides, isn't it clear that my upper thighs were in serious need of a tan?! π
This two piece leopard print bikini is a winner for those of us endowed with ample curves! I was a bit worried that the bikini top would not properly support my girls - I was wrong! The cup measurements are a perfect match to my frame (I ordered size 14). Not only that, the halter tie made it easy to adjust the extent of support provided. The high waist bikini bottom is also a great fit (size 14), it is not too tight or too loose.
I opted to style the set with a headwrap because I didn't fancy windswept, frizzed out, monster-size hair- LOL!
Stay tuned to the blog for more looks that I shot at the beach!
Until next time,
Xx
Now that the end of daylight savings time has arrived, I am at the realization that fall is on its way out and winter is just over the horizon. I ❤ warm weather fashion options! With cooler weather comes the perfect opportunities to indulge in an array of soft, plush, and delectable textures/fabrics. A few favorites immediately come to mind π For starters, V E L V E T anyone? How about FAUX FUR? I am totally smitten with the resurgence of furry purses. Velvet is so accessible, and the variety out there is amazing! I've seen velvet scarves, shirts, camis, skirts, dresses, pants, and even socks! I might have to try a pair of velvet socks out, you know, just for feels-LOL!
Today's look combines two of my favorite fall textures, plus they just so happen to be in the most perfect blush hue - can we call that a win/win? Which one is your favorite?!
Until next time,

Today's post features a lπk perfect for the Cali version of fall πor for shall we say, 'Indian Summer'? Bare shoulders, long sleeves, midi skirt ready, and open toe shoes. Clearly it is pedicure season all year-round here! Nonetheless, I am still amazed by how quickly the temperatures can shift when the sun goes down... One minute you're sweating, and the next minute you wonder why you don't have a coat on-LOL! I scored this top at the beginning of summer this year, but I instantly knew that it would be perfect for mild fall days. I always think of alternate ways to wear a piece at the time of purchase, often what I come up with is the deciding factor. Before all is said and done, this top will also be styled with a turtleneck, preferably one that is sleeveless...
Moving on: This pinstripe skirt is a closet newbie from Simply Be, I ❤ its classic print and wrap design. Despite its simplicity, it really is a showstopper. I decided to add olive green to the red, white, and blue color trio because olive is a natural fall neutral. It can stand in well for brown and nude hues. I grabbed an old Coach bag out of my stash and hit the door.
Until next time,
Xx

So it's almost Fall, but not quite, which means that it is still summer π I took advantage of this simple fact, and put this outfit together for a spin. I acquired both the hat and dress about the same time (a few weeks ago), although neither were intentionally meant to be paired with the other. However, when the dress came in the mail I immediately knew that it belonged with this hat π₯ Wasn't I right? Don't they look so happy together?! LOL!
If you're a regular visitor to my blog I will not bore you again about my ❤ of black & white color duos...Instead, I'll introduce you to a new-to-me brand, Simply Be. Simply Be is a UK based women's fashion retailer. They aren't new to the scene, in fact according to their site - "We’ve been leading the way in plus-size fashion for years, so we know a thing or two about creating perfect fits. Every time. And for everybody."
And check out this ah-mazing mission statement:
WE ARE NOT ONE SIZE FITS ALL.
AND WE ARE NOT A FAD.
CURVE IS NOT A TREND OR A HOT TOPIC.
IT’S NOT AN ADD-ON OR AN AFTERTHOUGHT.
IT’S AT THE HEART OF EVERYTHING WE DO.
IT’S WHY WE EXIST.
WE’VE BEEN HERE SINCE DAY ONE.
AND WE’RE STILL LEADING THE WAY.
WE DEMAND STYLE. WE DEMAND FIT.
AND WE HATE COMPROMISE.
WE ARE SIMPLY BE.
WE ARE CURVES.
This vintage inspired midi dress flatters a variety of body types, and it comes with a high neck and cut-out shoulder detailing. It's currently available is sizes 8-28, plus you have the option of selecting from two different lengths (which I didn't realize when I ordered it).
The cut-outs are my absolute favorite feature hands down! Not only are they great alternative to the cold shoulder trend, but they also tie in wonderfully with the vintage design.
I got a number of compliments both times that I wore this look - I look forward to styling the dress and the hat with existing items in my wardrobe.
Until next time,
Xx
