Winging It

"Oh wings, lift me up, bring me low
Oh wings, just where, I could go
-
Oh wings, gift me breezes, show me sights
Oh wings, glide me high, through city nights
-
Oh wings, make me warm, hold me dear
Oh wings, protect me, from all fear"
~Joi
The poem quoted above was written last night by yours truly. I believe that I have mentioned before here on the blog how I feel that I am a writer at heart. As the saying goes, life happens, and over the past few years I've gotten away from writing. I set a goal to begin writing again, even keeping a daily journal once more. Doing so always gave me a good feeling.
Sometimes goals can feel insurmountable, but the key lies in getting started. Everyone has to start, yes everyone has to start: somewhere.
Moving on to my super cute wing prop for today's post, aren't they fantastic?! I've been eyeing them for too long, even siking myself up to believe that I had to have on a super fancy outfit to take a picture in front of them.
As you can see, I finally threw that unnecessary notion to the wind. I propped myself in front of the wings in a casual two piece denim pinstripe set, and we snapped away.
Words to live by: Carpe Diem :)

Seize the moment my lovies!

Fall’s Spotted Neutral: Leopard Print | Take One

Why hello there! How was your weekend? Mine was quite full, but enjoyable. I have some great news to share! I mentioned in my last post how unbearable temperatures have been here in SoCal for the past few weeks. Well, I am happy to report that we finally experienced a cool down, and even a cloudy morning or two!!! =) Doesn’t sound like much to be happy about, huh? It may seem strange, but the best thing about the semi-cool down was that I got to play with my fall wardrobe! Yes ma’am, I promptly set about choosing which cool weather items I would wear first. Can you guess what won out?
You hit the nail on the head: Leopard print!!!
Now, admittedly I have not always appreciated the gloriousness that is leopard print. It’s not that I ever disliked it (see example here), yet I shied away from wearing it in its full glory. I was satisfied with an accessory or two. My, my - how things have changed! I now feel a connection to this exotic print, and anticipate pairing it up in new ways.

This week on the blog, we’ll take a walk on the wild side together ;) Can you say: "Rawr"?!
Until next time style kittens!

Intense Royal Blue & LEB Workshop Assignment 7: Legs and Feet

I truly enjoy wearing this royal blue number! Dresses are in my opinion, the easiest piece of clothing that a woman can style. This dress was no exception. I added accessories of my choice and hit the door.
I would have to say that blue is quite possibly my favorite color. There isn't really a specific shade that suits my fancy more than others, they are all so beautiful! Take notice of the fit & flare design, an added bonus to the intense shade of blue ;)

LEB Workshop Assignment 7: Legs and Feet
I've been running seriously behind on my LEB assignments (hosted by lovely Leah), so I decided to do a combined post today (previous assignments are posted here, here, and here). This month's focus is on legs and feet. I am grateful for my legs because they get me from Point A to Point B. I've been told since I was a little girl that I have big legs. Perhaps they are in the opinion of some, but I like them just the way they are. As for my feet, well now they can be a bit fussy because of hereditary issues, but all in all I have no complaints. Check out all my blogmates here.
Back to the style portion of this post:
Every time that I wear this dress, I accessorize it differently. Really, you can change the entire vibe of a look with the accessories that you choose. The options are boundless =) Here's a close-up of the accessories that I wore this go round.

Earrings: Natasha
Necklace: Boutique (Can't remember the name of it)
Dress: Eliza J.
Sequins clutch: Vintage
Peep toe pumps: Antonio Melani

Until next time, thanks for stopping by style lovers!
