Dark Knight

Hat: Nordstrom, old | Check shirt: c/o HERE| Camisole: Old| Jeans: Similar HERE & HERE| Shoes: Michael Kors, old| Clutch: Vintage

Unbelievably today marks the very last day of March 2017! Not only does it feel like this year is moving by at a alarming rate → this month in particular went in a blur. I guess the old saying rings true once again: Time flies when you’re having fun 😁
I wore today’s look out to dinner last week. Finally I had a chance to style this checked shirt dress sent to me by ELVI. Getting dressed for transitioning temperatures is an annual challenge; I find that learning how/when to employ layers is necessary for style survival.
On this day temperature highs hovered close to 80 degrees and there was a hint of humidity in the air. However, I knew that as soon as the sun went down temperatures would take a considerable nose dive. I opted for lightweight layers and the payoff was just what I hoped for.
Until next time Loves,

Two Times the Fun

Hey Babes, Today’s post features yet another hit from your spring fashion source Gwynnie Bee! I’ve really enjoyed sharing some of the fantastic offerings that they have for spring (see here, here, here, here, and here).
This classic striped shirt dress is an easy closet staple. I decided to style it with layers because spring temperatures decided to take a brief nose dive …however trust me when I say it looks equally fabulous styled alone and is very flattering on a curvy frame❤

Feeling Some Stripe of Way

Striped shirt dress: c/o ELVI Clothing| Jeans: c/o Lovesick, worn here| Straw bag: Vintage| Jeweled pumps: Kelley & Katie, worn here

It’s no secret, I cheer for ‘Team Stripes’ in every single way, all day, everyday! PSA: Diagonal, horizontal, whatever- I’m rocking stripes, and I don’t care whether or not it is deemed so called ‘flattering’ or not on my full figure frame…{insert appropriate emoticon}…

Yes Babes, I love stripes, and although a season change is upon us, I will continue to roll with stripes, in varied colors and in the classic form of black & white :) When ELVI reached out to me to try a few pieces from their AW collection, I was so happy! And wouldn't you know, I saw stripes? LOL!

ELVI says that they: 'design clothes that flatter and enhance the fuller figure - not hide it. At the heart of elvi, our core philosophy is to create statement contemporary fashion that is attractive, accessible and affordable to all women ranging from sizes 14-26. with our focus being on providing exceptional quality, expert tailoring and all-around personal customer experience every time you shop with us.'  Sounds great right?! I thought so too!

To be completely honest, there were a number of standout pieces in this AW collection! I selected 3, all of which will be making appearances here on le blog in the near future- but it would have been easy to select 10 or more... Additionally, ELVI just launched a new collection with Hayley Hasselhoff, it is dreamy!

Now this striped shirt dress is very well made (always a concern I have when trying out new designs), and is totally Fall ready with a color combination of beige, black, and maroon. It has side slits, is light weight, and comes with its own belt. The ease and flow of it is marvelous, I enjoyed wearing it out and about.

Tip: Size up for added drape & flow, the fabric is very lightweight- you might add a top underneath, rock it with your favorite skinnies, or a tube skirt and open toe booties!

Until next time,

XO

Almost Does Count: The Unexpected

Sometimes the best way to style a vintage number is going the route of the unexpected.

This classic beauty would look equally fab dressed up with heels, I'm picturing slingbacks, a matching handbag, and a timeless up-do.  But sometimes the expected…is well…boring…in my opinion.

I wanted to dress this look down versus up, so I went with a casual yet modern approach: A side pony for fun, a red belt for a splash of color, calf skin flats for comfort, and a statement clutch just because!

The best part about styling myself is having fun with it! Stepping outside of my comfort zone, trying new things, and of course,  getting away with the unexpected ;) Check out another vintage number that I styled in an unexpected way here.
Since I started blogging, there have been too many times when I wouldn't post looks because I lost track of time. For instance I got in some snaps of a shot I wore on June 1st, but by July 1st I hadn't blogged about it yet, for some reason or another. Welp,  I've decided to start posting those looks anyway, even if they are a few weeks late. How does the saying go? 'Better late than never'.

A perfect example lies in today's post, which I actually wore back in December 2015. I didn't get a chance to post it then because it was such a busy month for me, but alas 'Almost Does Count'....

Until next time style lovers!
