Today's post features a #thriftstorescore , a vintage color block dress with a twist! The quality and durability of vintage pieces never cease to amaze me. This is one of the main reasons I'm always on the hunt for a #thriftstorescore (see more here) !
I would say that this dress looks to be late 70s/early 80s ,yet every detail remains fantastically intact. I particularly like that the color blocking design is done on a diagonal, with a slant.
The ruching on the shoulders adds such femininity to the dress as a whole.
Now this was made before the time of faux-wrap designs, so guess what? When the wind blows, you are exposed- LOL! To combat embarrassment I wear a nude colored slip underneath :)
I paired it with gold because I had a hankering to carry my vintage gold handbag, scored during a recent trip to Vegas.
Am I the only one who has hankerings to wear and or carry certain things even when there are more suitable options available?! I have rose gold colored accessories which would have been a perfect match, but I simply didn't want to wear them...
I'd love to hear your thoughts and comments below!
Have a great day, and 'Until next time'!

Fabulous! I never find anything like that in thrift stores around my area - not that they're bad, but they never turn up anything as fantastic as this. It's just so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAw! Please don't give up! There are great finds to be had, but sometimes it takes a bit of digging :)
DeleteThank you!!
You did it again and look just as fabulous. Your eye for vintage finds is so sharp and your accessories are always on point. Kudos!!
ReplyDeleteHey Neti! Thank you, I can't seem to leave 'vintage' alone to save my life-LOL!
DeleteI really love this dress. I like it enough to see if someone can make me something like it. ;) I thought I left that comment when I first saw this post but it seems like I must have dreamed leaving it, lol. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is also just a quick note to say hi. I visited your blog during the month of August and I liked what I saw, so I've added you to my feedreader and am following your blog. :)
Cheers!

Thank you very much much for commenting & Welcome! I look forward to getting to know one another :)
DeleteAs you're well aware of my new summer love, coral, I'm sure you know I love this look! What an interesting and striking dress! The colorblocked panels and wrap styling have a vintage air, but at the same time, the dress feels super fresh and fashion-forward. I love this on you! Another awesome thrift store score!
