I Walk The Line

Today’s post features one of my absolute favorite #ThriftStoreScore pieces, this fabulous vintage dress! It is easily dressed up, or my version of dressed down, evidenced in today’s post.
I paired it with vintage sunnies and earrings. To add just a touch of trendy, check out my knee high socks & booties! Too bad I didn’t get a close-up of my socks, as they have very subtle pinstripes. Alas, I’ll do better next time- perhaps, LOL!
Moving on to my updo, it was super easy to do and was Pinterest inspired. I used what seems to be 100+ hair pins/bobby pins, a brush, and jojoba oil. I saw a clip that inspired me to wear my hair in it’s natural texture more often. I might blog about it, but I’m not sure yet…

Welp, that concludes today’s #ThriftStoreScore episode, until next time Style Lovers!

All Purple

Hey YOU! It’s been a minute since my last blog post, quite a few things have been going on, and then just as the dust seemed to settle, BAM, something else popped off… Isn’t that often the case in life?
I mentioned in my last post that I recently celebrated my 15 year wedding anniversary!!! In the midst of those festivities, we experienced devastating news.  Our longtime kitty companion was seriously ill and within three days, passed away. Her name was Patch Adams, we’ve had her for 13 years. She moved with us from Michigan to California, and honestly, I feel that her presence made the transition easier. She would often stand with me in my closet, or sit nearby as I picked out my clothes. The loss of her is heartbreaking. We will always remember her gentle disposition, affectionate manner, and beautiful fluffy mane.
Today’s look: I view purple as a neutral color (see more looks in purple here, here, and here). Monochrome is the name of the game this time around. I heart this pair of tights sent to me by Sonsee, Wild Berry Flawless Size 18-20. The fit is great, and the color luxe, oh so fab =)

White:White

Aren’t you glad that the old adage about wearing the color white has finally been tossed out the window? I know I AM! Finally, no more mind-numbing banter about the importance of only wearing the white after Memorial Day, yet before Labor Day! You can wear white any time you choose, and for me, there’s no time like the present! Of course living in a milder climate has helped…but I digress…
It’s no secret that I bat for ‘Team Bold Colour’ all day every day (examples here, here, and here), yet for me, the color white can be just as bold and piercing as citron.
White is crisp and fresh. Depending on how it is styled, white really can pack a colorful punch.
Having a healthy obsession with monochrome styling (see examples here and here), it’s not shocking that I love wearing white in exactly the same way right?! LOL!
Well today’s look actually offers a slightly different variation. Did you catch it?
You see, I felt a strong need to wear this pair of knit coral socks with this crochet skirt and pair of strappy sandals. Do you remember? I sounded off a warning last month on tumblr that I would be wearing more socks on trend. Why? Because I have a stock pile that have never been worn - this makes absolutely no sense. Plus, I’m a woman of my word!
