Today's #thriftstorescore features several thrifted pieces. One of the many reasons that I love thrifting is that it gives me the opportunity to try out pieces that I normally wouldn't. Take as an example this jumpsuit. I would not gravitate toward this piece in a department store. I'm always unsure of how the suit will look on my body, and I steer clear of cropped pants. Under retail circumstances I would not try it on just to see how it looks. Neither would I give this brand a second glance. By thrifting I am able to discover different styles and brands that I like, which probably would be a "miss" otherwise.
Straw hat: Vintage, thrifted
Jumpsuit: Bisou Bisou, thrifted
Booties: Steve Madden (worn here)
Clutch(vintage)/belt/earrings(vintage)/necklace: Thrifted
Bangles: World Market
Stay tuned for an ultra fun post coming in a couple of days; I am so excited to share it with you! {:o)
Can I say that I look forward to each & every post, 'cause you always surprise me! Well, that jumpsuit can take you from morning to date night and I am sure you had to hunt for it. You have just a good eye for styles and colors and always look so damn good!! Stay lovely my Friend. . .
ReplyDeletewow, thank you so much Neti! This jumpsuit did take me from day to night ;)
DeleteThis is a lovely piece Joi. I like the one shoulder affect. I stay clear of jumpsuits because of the annoyance of using the restroom :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Glenda! Somehow I forget about that annoyance until it's time for me to go to the potty! O_O It is indeed a pain!
DeleteJoi, this jumpsuit looks so cool and comfy. Definitely breathable, my kind of fabric choice...lol. I love how you've styled this with those cute booties and the hat gives the look a nice feminine touch. Keep slaying, lady :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kishina!
DeleteNormally I pair it with black, but this time I wanted to go for something different ;)
DeleteYou look great in the jumpsuit and I think it's a great find! I used to love thrifting myself but i stopped because it was so hard for me to find items that fit me, do you have any tips on thriftting? I would love to hear them if you do. But yeah you styled the outfit great, I love the brown accents to the outfit. :)

Hey Nina! Thank you; I was actually thinking about writing a 'How To' post about thrifting but then I thought: 'Would anyone be interested' I'm so glad to hear that you are ;) It can be challenging to find items that fit. Because I thrift often, I can usually tell by looking at a piece whether it fits or not-despite the size label. Sometimes items at thrift shops are irregular in size and vintage items have varying size measurements. I look through all sections (men included) and try to determine what pieces might work for me. I also try to have on clothing that I can try things on, whether over or under. HTH!
