Classic Linen Shorts | Take 2

Sunglasses: F21, another option HERE
Earrings: Old
Blazer: c/o HERE
Shorts: c/o HERE
Handbag: Vintage, thrifted
Shoes: Old

Today's post features the 2nd way that I styled my linen shorts. Although both takes are appropriate for wear to the office, Take 2 gives me true boardroom vibes (see Take 1 HERE). I love the oversized feel of the blazer. It can comfortably be worn over a blouse, open or closed. Which take is your favorite?
When I consider adding new items to my wardrobe, I always try to visualize a number of ways that I can style an item with things that I already own. Versatility is key, and helps to ensure that I don't end up making purchases that I don't truly love.
Until next time,

Shorts: c/o HERE
Shoes: ZARA; Check out a different pair HERE

Just like that, the long weekend has ended and we're back to work ๐Ÿ˜ฎ How was your Memorial Day? I spent mine eating, taking walks, and enjoying a binge-watching session. The Invisible Man was probably the highlight, although I was a bit taken aback by the way the movie played out...Something seemed off to me with the sequence of events, however no spoiler alerts here - I'll move on ๐Ÿ˜
Today's look features a classic pair of linen shorts, ideal for summer wear to the office and elsewhere. I can also see them styled for fall with a pair of tights and boots...
As quarantine restrictions begin to lift across the country, there is a measure of excitement as well as fear. How are you feeling about things? Fashion is a welcome diversion for me ๐Ÿ˜‰
I love the bold orange hue in this top, along with the colorful embroidered detailing. It makes an excellent companion to classic neutrals, like beige.
Since my post(s) on styling gingham shorts was well received last week, I decided to share another double take! Today's post features Take 1 of how to style linen shorts - Take 2 is coming up next!

A print that is synonymous with summer fashion in addition to florals is G I N G H A M.
Traditional gingham prints are often presented in the classic color duo, black & white.
I'm of fan of the expected, however diversions from the beaten path appeal to me equally.
This pair of gingham shorts from Lane Bryant stood out to me online instantly because they're RED, my favorite color ๐Ÿ’ž
When they arrived in the mail, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent fit (size 12) and functional side pockets. In my head, there should always be pockets...however I've digressed! Note: There are also faux pockets on the rear of the shorts, however I'm not fond of faux pockets...
I loved these shorts so much that I opted to style them not ONE, but TWO ways ๐Ÿ˜‰
Today's post features a monochrome look, red from head to toe is never too much in my book!
Stay tuned for the second way that I styled this pair of gingham shorts...

With the official start of SUMMER 2020 just under 6 weeks away, my mind has already drifted to the glory of EVERYTHING that is summer style๐Ÿ˜ Admittedly, this summer will no doubt be one for the record books - much of the world will continue to work to avoid a surge in COVID19 occurrences.  We each play an integral part. Additionally, many of us are actively grieving the loss of loved ones. Others are battling a fear of the unknown. Many have concerns about the economy, and what form normalcy may take on after everything is said & done.
That being said, thankfully the human spirit is one of resilience. Inevitably - at some point, we either consciously or unconsciously will make the choice to shift our attention towards lighter & brighter moments.
My intention is to lean into happy moments conciously on a regular basis. Expressing my individuality through personal style has always been a 'happy medium' for me. It is no surprise that I choose to draw my attention towards colors, textures, unusual combinations, and things that in general make me feel happy to be alive.
Today's look features a classic all-white ensemble, with textural detail by way of cotton eyelet fabric, a bamboo bag, and leather mules. I can easily see this look as the epitome of summer style for the office. Not only is it cool and comfortable COTTON, but the entire ensemble effortlessly transitions to a much needed happy hour at the end of a long day.
Enough about me! Do share what happy moments you've been leaning into during this uncertain time.

Fringe Factor

Sunnies: c/o HERE | Denim fringe jacket: c/o HERE
White denim jeans: Similar HERE + another option HERE| Shoes: Kenneth Cole, sold out

Hey Babes!
Today's post is all about the denim fringe jacket you never knew you needed ๐Ÿ˜ No, but seriously - if you are a collector of denim jackets, this one may catch your eye! I have more than a few denim jackets/vests in my current inventory, however, none of them boast fringe detailing! I L๐Ÿ’–VE how the fringe takes center stage!
I found the fit of the jacket to be a tad too large for my taste (I'm wearing a size 0XL), so I knotted it just above my waist and styled it as a crop top ๐Ÿ˜‰ This offered the exact fit that I envisioned! Always remember: In fashion, everything is fair game!

Off the Clock

Jumpsuit: c/o HERE| Purse: Old, another option HERE| Shoes: HERE + another option HERE

Hey Babes!
Today's look features a wonderfully comfortable sweater jumpsuit. I snagged it c/o the team at Fashion to Figure, and boy am I glad that I did! This onesie is perfect for transitioning temperatures. Spring fashion is heavily on my mind! This look was made for mild days x chilly nights ๐Ÿ˜‰The weight on the knit is noticeably substantial, overall it has a quality feel. My favorite features are the off the shoulder top, double stripe design, and the fitted ankles. This jumpsuit can be easily dressed up or down --> depending on your style needs and preferences. Remember: Personal style is about YOU!
For reference, I am wearing a size 0XL, which is similar to a US numerical size 12. The cut on this piece is generous, if you'd like it to fit tight versus relaxed, you may prefer to size down.
All in all, I was loved how everything came together! I'm curious, how would you style this jumpsuit?!

Spring Style Options from Karen Kane

Outfit #1 (Navy dress)--> Velvet hat: Vintage| Earrings: Similar HERE| Dress: c/o HERE| Bag: ZARA| Shoes: ZARA, another option HERE
Outfit #2 (Floral kimono)-->Hat: Old,try HERE| Kimono: c/o HERE| Black dress: Old, longer option HERE| Shoes: Old, similar HERE

When the team at Karen Kane reached out to me to work together on a feature with their spring content, I seized the opportunity! If you're not familiar with the brand, you can find their designs at major retailers such as Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Lord & Taylor, and Macy's. I would describe the brand's style aesthetic as a classic. They offer classic designs that are ideal for workwear, along with casual separates.
Today's blog post features how I styled two items from their spring lineup, specifically with the mindset of day to night wear. Without further ado, let’s get into the details!
For Look #1 I selected a navy tie-waist maxi dress styled with a surplice V-neck and stem-showing front slit. This dress is ideal for the office, however easily transcends into night wear with a few select accessories ๐Ÿ˜‰
For Look # 2, I selected a floral kimono with textural interest. We don’t often think of dark floral prints for spring fashion, but the light, airy feel and fabric of this one makes this an ideal option. I topped it over a tank style LBD (little black dress) plus added in black accessories to highlight the beautiful floral detail.

Which look is your personal favorite?

Here are a few additional spring style options from the brand that caught my eye:

Cheetah print top
Leopard print blazer
Cheetah print jumpsuit

Until next time Babes!

How to Style a Dress as a Shirt

Sunnies: F21| Dress: ZARA, alternative HERE
Jeggings: c/o Nic & Zoe + other options HERE
Shoes: Similar HERE

Hey Babes,
You've probably noticed that I’m all for wearing shirts as dresses (see HERE & HERE) but you may not know that I like to rock dresses as shirts too (see HERE)! I've said this time and time again on the blog, but it is totally worth repeating: Versatility is EVERYTHING๐ŸŽฏ
I enjoy styling pieces that can serve a variety of style functions. This classic shirt dress is a great option for spring and summer. It's made of linen, which keeps you feeling nice & cool even when temperatures heat up. To wear it as a transitional piece - across seasons, I opted to style it with a pair of pants.
Remember: In fashion, everything is fair game. Wear what makes YOU feel GOOD.
Until next time,
